UPDATE

Oh boy, its been a LONG week.

Going to put this in point form so its easier to follow.

1. We decided that we're going to go all out and choose one of the best specialists in Australia, one who specialises in male factor infertility. I knew who I wanted to see straight away as he has always been my pick but being a 10hr drive I never thought it was feasible. So I sent him an email asking for his opinon on what my FS had said. He basically said that he didn't agree with putting me on clomid and being in our 20's and trying for 18months without a pregnancy meant that there is a big problem. He said he'd want to do a sperm wash/test testing for everything under the sun then we'd start treatment.

2. I got a referal to this guy.

3. Had a phone appt with this guy on Thursday. He was lovely and very helpful.

4. I've made an appointment with him which is the 9th May. We will be seeing him, getting a sperm test done, then seeing the IVF nurses for a talk, asking questions etc.

5. 1 week after we have a phone appt with him where he will discuss the results of the sperm test with us and what treatment we will need.

6. My original FS clinic is being VERY difficult with handing over our file so i'm going to have to put my bitch hat on to fight for what is rightfully MINE. I need the file for our appt next month.

7. Decided not to take the clomid. Thinking that my surgery has messed my cycle up a bit as i'm normally no later than 27 days and currently on CD 31, don't get excited though, we've not had any this cycle AT ALL!!!

So thats it...will have to wait until the 16th May till we find out what we will be doing and when.

I have every faith in this Dr so far...he has a lot of experience and I feel I will be getting the cadilac of IF treatment

That sounds fantastic. Good on you for fighting the point.

I think you've made the right decision with the Clomid though it must have been tempting to just think "I'll give anything a go". I know I would have.

The doc sounds great. I think it will be worth the extra effort. Didn't you have a huge journey anyway to the docs you were seeing?

Do you know what sort of wait you might have after the 16th May to get started on treatment?

Good luck on getting your file. They've been so reckless with you, the least they can do is pass it on.

So glad you have something to feel positive about again
