Hubby got a few problems!!!

Well, we have been TTC for 2 years now with no joy, we have sperm analysis done last year that resulted in husband having low % of good or ideal sperm, they can all get there but their shapes meant they wouldnt ever get through the egg.
Anyway after changing diet, loosing weight and increasing exercise and no alcohol or smoking or drugs he went back and asked for a retest.
We did the retest or should i say he did the retest last week and we had a letter yesterday saying problems with results. so we made appointment today and went to see the GP who has put him on a very high dose of antibiotics and said this could be the main cause for our fertility problems since last year, he also said he wants me to stop using OPK and HPT and forget about trying as whilst he has this infection there is no chance at all of falling preg.
I am feeling very very sad and down about this as all i want is a family and someone telling u that you cant have one and you cant actively try for one is very upsetting
Just needed to tell someone so sorry to go on girls
Lou

Take care and best wishes

awh hun. sorry to hear what your doc said. Maybe a break from the stress will be just what the doctor ordered so to speak. Did you see the thread about the girl with the infection who found out this morning that she is pregnant? Sorry I am really bad a remembering names. You never know. It might still happen for you.

huni I'm so so sorry to hear this! Don't apologize for coming on looking for support (I do it 2) but at end of the day that is why we are all here! Did the docs give you any idea how long u have to put ttc on hold? My thoughts are with u.

I would be getting a referal to a fertility specialist. I don't see how this a course of anti-biotics is going to cure him of poor sperm shape and low count.

In my experience, I know more than bloody GP's about infertility!!! Get yourself in to see someone who specialises in this field.

All the best

on the plus side maybe the antibiotics will make a difference! Try to remain positive you could always try and phone a fertility specialist and ask them if antibiotics could make a difference!

Try the antibiotics then ask for a retest after to see if they have made a difference. I the meantime you should keep positive(know it's hard)healthy and relax to get raedy for the next stage.

Give the AB's a go for sure but you will have to wait 3 months to retest as that is how long it takes for the new sperm to build etc

If that test still shows problem, get a referal to a specialist ASAP. Let us know how you go
