poor responders to injectibles?

not an immediate situation, but does anyhow else not respond well to injectibles?

we did IUI in '07 that was cancelled. the protocol was
Buserelin 0.3ml per day from day 2
Puregon 50iu starting day 2 or 3.

If I remeber rght, first scan was cd 7, no follies, just cysts. cd 10 was the same, dose upped to 75iu. cd 13 scan still no follies. Was then reweighed and because I'd gone back up to 14st (had to get to 12-7 to do it) I was cancelled.

just before starting cd3 results: tsh 2.4, lh 11, fsh 6.8, prolactin 166.

anyone else had a poor response? have you then been able to get a decent response? does it seem like the weight could really make that much difference?

Hiya
i donated eggs for my sis and i was not a good responder , never got more than a 3/4 eggs but its the quality that counts. hse still got pg twice
Are you eating thye right foods /drink water during stimms?
Acupuncture can help during stimms to incraese blood flow to the ovaries..
protien can help with egg growth
good vit tablet?

fially the protocol which they put you on may not be the right one for you??

14 stone isnt huge but i guess everyone is different. Always better if u can to try to be a healthy weight for you height.

im starting stim injections in a week. Its been 3 years since i last did egg donor, im now 39 and this time im doing all the above. My eggs quality has decreased so it will be interesting to see how i do this time. I can let u know?

Hi sparkle,

I guess I know what you mean about being a poor responder as my first IVF cycle was cancelled as I only had one dominant follicle for EC when I needed 10-12. But my consultant was very positive and said that the dose just wasn't right for me and he wouldn't technically call me a poor responder just yet.

To be honest, my weight doesn't make a blind bit of difference to treatment and I feel my NHS consultant just used that as an excuse to put me on a waiting list because he wasn't interested in my condition (PCOS). My cycles are no better whether I am fat or skinny! Of course we have to eat the right things and look after ourselves but don't let them bin you off with that one.

Thanks girls

I was hoping that it was down to my own hormones not being supressed enough, plus it being quite a low dose of stimms. Definately want to be healthier before going again. On the plus side, it didnt count as 'failed', so we've still got 4 IUIs + 1 IVF left. After ovarian drilling, we will possibly go back to doing iui straight away.

I was a slow responder, I was on Puregon also. I had to go on it much longer than expected....And in the end I was admitted to hospital for about a week due to Overy Hyperstimulation of the ovaries (too much drugs!)....It's so hard to get it right, even our Dr did warn us about that...PCOS also makes it harder....

But it worked out in the end...

Wishing the best for you hun, hope it works out

thank you, so good to see a success in this situation! what dose were you eventually on?
I'm wondering if I need a week of supressants before starting stimms next time.
