is polyfollicular ovaries same as pcos?

Hey ladies,
I note alot of ladies with pcos have follicles that dont mature, these are not cysts my gyno explained, there bascially eggs that dont mature to get reliased and disappear after some time..

Only thing is my gyno said my pcos is real mild, and my bloods are just above borderline, however since loosing weight i was wondering if maybe these polyfollicular will go and i may get back to ovulating normal????

I just tried reading on the net and there are alot of info but not so much on polyfollicular ovaries is this actually pcos?
x

hi beauty didnt wanna read and run but im not too sure.....when i had my my scans done in june and july my report says that it shows i have peripheral follicules.....was told i hjave polycysts...... i had lots of bloodtests & apparently i was ovulating ok.....but even my fs said unless u have those tests done every mth theres no way of knowing for definate if you have ovulated.....as opk just detect the surge not ovulation itself. I am currently on 2nd cycle of clomid 50mg and had follicular tracking last cycle ( only cycle i will have the scans) & the follicules appeared to mature nicely & i def did ovulate.....whether or not i was def ov with proper matured eggs b4 then god knows!! what were ur blood results? xx

My blood results were low the gyno said which was good in terms of PCOS.. i was just over boarderline!

The problem is people refer to pcos as cysts on ovaries, but my gyno said i havent got cysts mine are follicles that dont mature to relase the egg and therefore the follicles stay until they disappear (she said there not big to remove and they wouldnt remove them) I know ppl get cysts etc but wots the difference?

I dont have pcos symtons only messed up cycles, sometimes there cd35 and sometimes cd65..

I dont know if this is due to being on the bc for so long (12yrs), as like gyno said my pcos bloods were boarderline etc and now ive lost weight im wondering if that might get rid of the problems with long cycles
xx
