How soon after Lap to start IVF

Hi,
I had my appointment with fertility specialist - my tubes are still blocked but my ovaries and hormone levels etc are all fine. So we can only get pregnant through IVF.
I am having a lap in 2 weeks so they can tie my tubes (as there is fluid leaking from them and this would hinder any chance of a pregnancy)

I am just wondering - how long should I wait after the lap to start IVF - can I start it as soon as the next cycle?
I am so eager to get started on the IVF.

Thanks for your advice.

hi i had my lap on 13/11. i was told the same as you re: tubes and IVF.
i have my follow up on 12/12 and we can start straight away ( as its private), so i suppose once you have had your follow up he should give you the go ahead. im hoping to start late Dec early Jan

Thanks muncho.

I am going private too so I dont think there will be any waiting list.
I will wait to see what he says after my lap then and hopefully book in for early January for the IVF.

Oh brill...ask him if you can start to get things moving whikst you wait for your follow up..
and ask him to put you on the waiting list for NHS as well..you may as well. You can always cancel WHEN you get your BFP

My consultant said 6 weeks, I am on NHS but because of other reasons my consultant knows i need ivf as soon as my body is able too. But i do think it could have been a bit earlier because its fallen inbetween xmas and nye.

Im still feeling battered after my lap, its between 2 weeks, im only able to do gentle exercise.
