| I Have PolyCystic Ovaries! Im In Need Of Advice. Please Help Hello im Lizzy, im 27.
Back in Feb this year i came off the BCP.
I kept getting pains left or right side around 14-16 days into my cycle, they got so bad i went to docs in June where i was diagnosed with PCOS.
The doctor was sympathetic but didn't tell me much about it, i asked my friend who has it and she says she has Polycystic Ovaries but NOT the syndrome, how do i know what i have? Im not over weight, im not very hairy, all i get is pains here and there and painful periods.
I have fairly regular periods and back in Aug i fell pregnant but sadly M/C on Sept 1st.
I am TTC and i just want to know why, what to expect, what to do etc, im so confused about it all.
Im currently taking Sanatogen 'mother to be' vitamins and mineral tablets. | | | | Status: Offline

| Lizzy,
I too have PCOS without all the symptoms. I have very regular periods but I get a bunch of tiny follicles that never mature into good healthy eggs. I was on Clomid when I found out so my doctor added metformin to the mix. Now I only take metformin. You should definetly have another talk with your dr to find out what you want to do next. | | | | Status: Offline

| hi i was diagnosed with polycysts on my only ovary in june when i had a u/s done for something else!! after my doc ent through the full report with me he said he didnt think i had the syndrome part of it as i am not over weight, not too hairy ( i beg to differ as i get awful hair around nipples & below belly button!! but have heard when its really bad its everywhere!!!!) he also said i havent got acne, & again i beg to differ!! i get awful spots on my face, shoulders & back!! especially around the time i ovulate!! I had to have the hormone bloodtests done to see if i was ovulating ok, which luckily i was, i am however on clomid, 2nd cycle as my fs thinks it may help. xx | | | | Status: Offline

| I have PCOS too, I get the pains you describe, but i get there more than just around ov time, I am on clomid as I do not ovulate, though I get get pregnant last year without help but sadly our baby grew wings, since then I have not ov on my own. I am not overweight, I have the odd hair that should not be there, lol and do get bad spot or 2 around middle of cycle even when not ov. I have regular periods, cycles vary from 30 - 36 days but that to me is regular compared to others with pcos.
I would def go back to your GP and have a chat about what your options are, do you know if you ov? | | | | Status: Offline
