Anticardiolipin antibodies test?

Hi everyone
I have just had my 2nd miscarriage this year, devastated yet again. As I am 40 I have asked my IVF doctor to carry out a few tests. So the first one he is going to check is anticardiolipin. Have any of you ever had this tested? or... is there any other tests that i should be getting checked at this stage?
Thanks

Sorry - posted this in wrong forum !!

Also known as Lupus Anti-coagulant, or Antiphospholipid Antibody test. Its a really common test for both recurrent miscarriage and for difficulty conceivning and one that most docs choose to run first.

Its a simple blood test, and if found positive you would be advised to start taking aspirin (a tiny dose) once daily either from the start of your next pregnancy or in some cases immediately, amd well into 2nd trimester.

Once pregnant, you would also be prescribed a daily shot of Heparin to see you through the first few weeks, while the pegnancy establises itself.
