Hi there,

Im transferring to the JR, as the consultant at the Horton Banbury was RUBBISH. Just wondering if anyone else is going there?? Are they any good??

Thanks and xx

Hey Samba!

I might be referred there too! Have a choice between this and Salisbury, and trying to research the two. If I understand correctly, once they identify the need for IVF - you get referred to the Oxford Fertility Unit, but someone might be able to confirm/correct me on that.

Honeywright, were you at Radcliffe or did you go on to Oxford Fertility Unit? If you don't mind me asking, who was the consultant? (Are we allowed to name names here? )

It's a shame that the unit doesn't do open evenings like others do. That way, you get to meet people and have a walk around to gauge how comfortable you feel about the place.

Wrighty... I had Mr Naomi (I think thats how you spell it) he had the prescription of clomid on the table before he'd even seen my scan results... had lost DF's SA so didnt even know if the issue was him or not!!! He didnt ask me to book a follow up appointment.... just gave me a piece of paper with the Clomid nurses info on and told me to call her on CD1!

Peartree - Ive heard that Oxford is fab.... was the first place to trial IVM... Cant be that bad can it! I will be going to the Radcliffe at the womens centre.

I'll be interested to see how you both get on! xxxx

Thanks Samba - that's what I'm thinking - they're at the cutting edge of research so they must be good!

Hi, I went to the radcliffe in the womens centre, sorry cant remember the name.

However my friend has called the oxford fertility centre for me (which I belive is at the same place) about a private appointment.

I didnt like the man I saw, he was rude and not helpful in my situation but that is not to say that he would not be helpful to other people.

I have PCOS and he seems to know the technical details but didnt have time for discussion on helping weightloss and refused any other tests (all i have had is 21 day bloods) until I lost weight.

I think its worth moving if you are unhappy where you are and you may get someone different or the same one as me and really like him.

I called Oxford Fertility Unit this morning to check their waiting times to compare against Salisbury. There's no waiting time which is good - it's 4-6 weeks from receipt of letter for a first appointment and then things will move from there.

But with my telephone conversations with people in Oxford, they seem quite abrupt.
