QMC Nottingham - IVF waiting list?

Just wondering if anyone knows the current waiting time for IVF at the QMC Nottingham? I have an appointment in a couple of weeks but my recent lap op showed that I'm going to need IVF and I'd really like to know how long we are going to have to wait.

i dont have any kids and am 38 so get bumped to the top: 3-6 months for me..

in fact i dont think you can have IVF on NHS if you have kids already
hope that helps

Hi Baby Christie - me again!

When I asked about waiting lists at the QMC whilst we were still on clomid, they told me there was no waiting list at all. Once you are in with the clinic they just put you through the recommended treatment when you are ready. The only reason I had to wait at all for my IUI was due to Jury service that I couldn't get out of and then a pre booked holiday. May have changed now but you could be lucky and if they recommend IVF you could be away. Only difference is that I had nurse led care not consultant led but I can't see that it should make a huge difference.

Good luck!

Hi Muncho
I'm almost 35 and have no children, so I hope that this is the same in Nottingham!

Hi again - thanks for this, it sounds amazing if it is still the case. I am hoping we might be able to try IUI whilst waiting / preparing for IVF and if we could get this in the next couple of months it would be fantastic. I'll find out in about 12 days time but its made me feel really positive in the meantime. I'm not sure what the difference better nurse v consultant care is but I'll keep my fingers crossed!
