| Is it true that eggwhites may assist conception?
I've just read on one of the home incemination threads about using an eggwhite around ovulation to assist the sperm and ultimately get a BFP.
Has anyone tried this with their partners?
I googled it and read all these stories about people's successes but I don't know if these were just the people who decided to share their good news and the ones it didn't work for didn't bother.
A word of warning though there was the odd comment that the eggwhite may cause infection. | | | | Status: Offline

| Hi, i read that yesterday!
It made me laugh to be honest it seemed a bit farfetched.
I have read millions of things that are supposed to help conception but at the end of the day. there is only one thing that will get you pregnant and that is if the sperm meets the egg on that all important day.
How long have you been trying? I have been unprotected for 4 years now, I have just been discharged from my FS, I have had a lap n dye, ultrasound and all has come back fine. I am now on my first month of 100mg of clomid cd 2 to 6. and hoping for my this month.
If you do want to use a lube for that extra bit of help, There is a sperm friendly lube available on the market. I wouldn't use the egg whites if i were you.
good luck | | | | Status: Offline

| eggwhite mimics EWCM which can help the get where their going, so to speak. It doesn't actually 'increase fertility'
pre-seed works just as well and is less icky | | | | Status: Offline

| I've looked up Pre-Seed and found that Amazon sell it, does anyone know of any other UK stockists maybe on the highstreet?
I'm comfortable with ordering from Amazon but I'm not too sure about some of the other online stores that are less well known. | | | | Status: Offline

| Like all lubes it does kill a certain amount of sperm. I would only use if you have no EWCM of your own. If you are using it I would keep it to a minimum. X | | | | Status: Offline

| Before I started TTC, I got a book called "The New Essential Guide to Lesbian Conception, Pregnancy, and Birth". They only mention three things that may help with assisting the AI, egg whites being one of them. The only other thing I know on the subject is that the donor we use also has a few other couples he is helping out. One was TTC with him for 8 months with no joy. Month 9 they used egg whites and got a BPF. Can't see that it would be harmful - just probably messy (which AI tends to be anyway!).
I'm going to try Conceive Plus next month. I would try egg whites, but in the place we do insem, there is no fridge to keep the eggs. | | | | Status: Offline
