| Fcuk Hi All,
Sorry for the title but I didn't know what else to say really. Took my friend to hospital today, she has been ttc for a few years and finding I have problems myself I have encouraged her to go for tests. They found a cyst on each of her ovaries which have got bigger. She was due to have the cysts removed today and at worst her ovaries. The op got refered as she has a fear of needles and missed a crucial blood test CA125. I asked her consultant what this was for and he replied to test her ovaries. He is so sending her for a CT scan. To cust a long story short I googled CA125 and it is a test for Ovarian Cancer hence the Fcuk, she doesn't know this and I am really worried for her. What do u think ? I am hoping they just do it as standard. Thanks for any help and advice x | | | | Status: Offline

| Oh, I'm so sorry. That is so scary. Hopefully she and you will have answers soon. If it does turn out to be bad at least it will be caught earlier than it would have been if you hadn't encouraged her to get tests done. | | | | Status: Offline

| Hi Hun
Sorry about your friend, and hope the op went well for her. ABout the blood test that is standard and 95% of cysts are not malignant. I am sure she will be fine. I remember freaking out too but its just standard procedure. Does she know what cysts she has? Im having an op on Monday to remove 2 large cysts AGAIN!
Hope i helped

| Dilek,
Thanks for the reassurance I think I am just fearing the worst I don't think the c word has crossed her mind. Her op was cancelled until they have the results of the ca125. She had it done then and there and sees the consultant again on Thursday. Don't think she was told what kind of cysts they are they have only been seen on her ultrasounds x | | | | Status: Offline

| It's so tough when you know something like this but don't want to say anything.
I hope everything goes well for her on Thursday. from what Dilek says it may not be too much to worry about - of course that won't stop your from worrying. Best of luck. | | | | Status: Offline

| Good News my friend has seen the consultant today and her test for cancer was negative so she doesn't need a ct scan. They told her the cysts are filled with watery fluid. They are now going to get her op done before Xmas to remove them x | | | | Status: Offline
