| 15 months TTC Hi all, I am 28, my husband is 32 and we have been trying to conceive for 15 months. I have been told I have 'unexplained infertility' as all my structural tests are normal. My husband has a normal sperm count and I appear to be ovulating. I chart my cycles and one thing I notice is that my BBT doesn't rise very quickly or very high post ovulation although it DOES show a rise and I get a +ve OPK. I also chart my mucus and all the signs suggest I ovulate. My progesterone level came back at around 20 ( on day 21) which my doctor said was 'equivocal' although, once I was referred, my fertility doctor at the hospital was unconcerned by this! I am considering natural herbs and acupuncture. I am not back at the hospital until May. Can anyone offer re-assurance or advice on my situation? Any comments and thoughts are greatly appreciated. | | | | Status: Offline

| I can't really offer any help, but I'm in pretty much the same boat as you. I can tell you, you are not alone in this process. I had Endo, but had lap in January and I was clear so that isn't causing the infertility. We have been TTC for 3 1/2 years with about a year break in between because I broke my back and was on all kinds of meds. We have been trying this round for 20 months now. I have been on clomid since March because I might not be ovulating. My doc just wants a progesterone level of over 10. I chart and so I know I'm ovulating by that way. If this last cycle of Clomid doesn't work then I will be sent to a specialist out of the area. I'm assuming they will do further testing and see about treatment depending on the results. I can tell you I am considering going the acupuncture route if the Clomid doesn't work. My mom's husband's brother is one and has been very successful treating infertility. He is going to help me find someone near me. | | | | Status: Offline

| Have you had an hsg or lap and dye for investigation of tubes and uterus?

| Wifey and I tried for 6 years. We finally got a BFP 2 weeks ago today.
All I can say is Keep positive. I almost gave up, but I could always picture us with a family.
We tried Clomid, but not IUI or IVF.
In the end it happend naturally when we were on holiday, not even trying, just having fun.
Don't ever give up.

| I am very similar. Been trying for 16 months, with "unexplained infertility". The only test I have not had is a lap. So scared of that one! So, the only possibility would be that I have endo. I did one cycle of Clomid and then 2 cycles off. I tried acupuncture, but felt no different (I was hoping it would reduce my stress/anxiety). The doctor was great; she said if I didn't feel a difference after 6 visits, it might not be worth it to stay. Argh! So, next cycle, we are back to Clomid with IUI. | | | | Status: Offline
