Anyone taking letrozole (femara) instead of clomid? - Page 2

I wonder why Im taking 5mg???? Touchwood Ive been ok so far so fingers crossed I dont get any side effects.

Did you get any side effects with Clomid?

I didn't get any side effect with Clomid at all other than a little dryness, but other than that nothing. Some doctors start off at different dosages. It just really depends on the doctor.

I'm on 2.5mg. I took it at bedtime because that's when the pharmacist said it fit well with the rest of the medication that I'm on...

Ive read good and bad things about femara, but mostly good. Just wondering if anyone else is currently on it? After 4 cycles of clomid Im going to ask mydoc about femara! Fxed I get it.. Im so fed up of getting my hopes up month after month!

Femara answered my prayers. I fell pregnant on my 2nd cycle of it after trying for baby no 2 for 2 years. Im will be 22 weeks pregnant on Thursday to Femara gets a thumbs up from me.

Also I never experiened any side effects and I was on a double dose

OMG! Congrats! Thats so exciting. I cant wait to ask for it, and if they wont give it to me I will go to a different doc. It's been such a long road I am just SO ready!

I have taken it twice (3 months each) and have had two full term babies who are both happy and healthy kids. I am on it a third time now TTC baby #3! I didn't O on clomid, it thinned my lining and was drying my CM. It was odd how the month I changed to Femara my CM came back, I had a perfect lining and once we had the right dose I Oed. So hoping this is my month for another BFP! I also liked that I was rid of the clomid headaches. No side effects at all on Femara. I was on 5mg femara cd3-7, 500 mg metformin this time as this was my magic dose with both of my other kids.

Just realized this post is almost half a year old!

Hearing some success stories is so great. I am doing an iui this cycle. I have taken femara 5mg this cycle. I do ovulate on my own. I have pcos and endo - just had a lap 2 months ago. I am also injecting puregon daily.

I have only used opks a few different times while ttc. I am pretty sure I ovulate on my own Im just not sure what's wrong because I have never gotten the thorough care from a doc. My original doc did the original workup (bloods and 4 cycles of clomid) and after he got let go I did it on my own for another year and a half... It's not going so well though so Im hoping this new doc will be understanding!
