Lengthy Periods

Hi

Just wondering if anyone can advise me? Me and my hubby have been ttc for 3 years now and achieved a pregnancy December 2008 which unfortunately turned out to be chemical We've had nothing since and after 12 months on clomid we are due to see the consultant this month to start iui. My query is around my periods - they seem to last around13-14 days and usually begin with brown spotting for 5 days followed by 3/4 days of red then brown again!!! No one seems bothered by this but how can i get pregnant when i have 14 day periods! Just wondered if anyone has a similar story? I started taking Evening Primrose Oil last month but i think it made me not ovulate this month - aaggghhhh! Don't know what else to try

Thanks for listening.

Hiya, I don't want to read and run, but i haven't experienced this but I would say its definately not normal and i would have thought that your dr would do something about it.

I hope you get some more help in december when you go back.

i too spot brown for 3/4 days b4 af arrives fully.....my doc & fs do not seem to be concerned! i am currently on my 1st cycle of clomid....& was tracked this cycle & the scans showed i did ovulate ok & produced a nice size follicule....why is it im still feeling down & not positive??? i just cant stop thinking that the spotting of brown b4 af is the cause of me not conceiving......im sure my levels of progesterone are dropping too low after ovulation & too quickly....im gonna give vit b complex pills a try as from next cycle i think...meant to help xx

Thanks for your responses. Dancingkaty - know what u mean about feeling down lifes just not fair sometimes I am currently using chinese herbs and am taking b-vits (i ovulate on my own anyway) but i too am thinking my progestorone level is low. I have had cd21 test and nothing was mentioned but... I am hoping that iui will be successful for us - i just wish we had an answer why instead of unexplained! keeping my fingers crossed for you xxx

Hiya babes

Hopefully you'll get some answers from your consultant - I don't have anything to add as such, but didn't want to read and not contribute anything at all.

I don't have periods or ovulation at all and am going for my doc's appointment to get the fertility ball rolling on Friday after 13 months ttc with no AF and no nothing..

Fingers crossed for everyone for some proper answers soon xx
