| Hi there!
I was put on metformin last year October. I was diagnosed with PCOS a very long time ago, but it was only when I went to the doc to discuss help with ttc#1 that they put me on met. I was given 500mg per day for the first week, then 500mg twice a day for the second week, en then I was SUPPOSED to take two 850 mg tablets a day, but I got confused (or so I've been told as I'm sure that's what the doctor told me to do but anyhoo) so I only took 1 850mg per day. I didn't get my period up and to three months later when I went to my GP for a repeat on the perscription and she pointed out that I should take 850mg twice a day. Within two weeks I had my period, and seems that I am now "regular". Personally I think it's because I am now taking the right amount of met for "me" (hope this makes sense!) Before I never new....could be three months in a row...could be missing for 12 months... Met didn't help me with conceiving though, so was given clomid 2 weeks ago, however I have read many many many stories of people falling preggers on met - some people rediculously fast :-). I'm glad I gave met a good go though before getting onto the clomid, would've preferred falling pregnant that way, however am in a little bit of a hurry to start our family!

| I used Metformin with Clomid, success the first month. Miscarried at 7 weeks, but my progesterone was low. Used it again 2 months later, success! I am now 17 weeks 3 days had to take progesterone the first 12 weeks though. It must have helped. Good Luck to you! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Actually, I am just trying Met for 3 months and then on May 5th I go back. If I am not pregnant or have not gotten AF then they are going to jump start my periods (with some drug that starts with a P - I am too lazy to look it up. LOL) and then I will start Clomid! *crosses fingers*
I had such high hopes for Met but I am not totally blowing it off and hopefully May will be my lucky month! | | | | Status: Offline
