Laporoscopy??

Hi all I've been away for a while, still TTC but just wanted to pop on for some reassurances and to hear some of your experiences I guess.

DH and I have been TTC for 2 years now with 1 miscarriage at 5 weeks back in March. We've been going to the fertility clinic for a year now and we know I'm ovulating fine and DH has plenty of healthy sperm so now next Tuesday I'm off for a laporoscopy to check my tubes are all fine - I had an emergency C-section with my son so they are worried that there could be "sticky" bits there that are stopping the sperm and egg from meeting, they also suspect that the miscarriage I had was due to it being an eptopic pregnancy but thats something that we will never know for sure.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has had this procdure or knows of anyone that has and that this has then sorted any problems there might have been and have gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?

i just PM you..

hi i had it last night, had to stay in overnight. i had a lap, HSG ( where they put dye in) and a Hysterocopy ( up thru the vagina) .i dint not know i was having the last two, so i was a bit shocked.

i had a general and they gave me morphine as well. was a bit naseaus last night but slept most of the evening..

today my stomach is a but sore and im beginning to get pain in my shoulder - which is normal. its not very painful. it come and goes so they are going to give me pain killers

but please dont be worried - easy to say i know.
i was surprised to be told i had endometriosis and may not be able to concieve naturally...im very surprsied as always had regular periods - albeit light- im 38 dont know if that has anything to do with it. i do not have any syptoms !

is there anything in specific you want to know? i guess i will fiind out more today when the doc comes to see me and also how im feeling.

p.s i went private...dont know if that is relevant or not
good luck xx

if u want any more info pm me..

Hi, had lap and dye two days ago. A bit sicky afterwards and dizzy but felt fine after a good nights sleep. Haven't had much pain at all, a little sting where the incisions are but nothing else. Haven't had wind pains, must be lucky. I came out of hospital the same day. Was told that my tubes are definitely blocked and there seemed to be some inflammation on one of the tubes. Got to see consultant in 6 weeks, which seems forever, so dont know the outcome yet.
Dont worry its not as bad as you think, just take it easy!!
Will let you know more when i do
All the best x

Thanks!
My hubby as the day of the procedure and the next day off work plus my Mum is coming up for the week as well as I have a 4 year old son from my first marriage so my Mum is gonna be here to look after him and take him to school and stuff.
I'm sure it'll be fine just a bit worried as to what they might find! This could be the end of our 2 year ttc journey!

I have had 2 laps and they really aren't that big of a deal. I have heard if they find and correct something during the procedure then immediately afterwards your chances of conceiving increase by 75% or something.

Muncho - if you have endo then usually after the lap is the best time to conceive if they removed the endo which I would assume they did.

Good luck to you all.

As we both have children from previous relationships we've already been told that we won't get ivf on the NHS and there is no way we could afford to pay for it ourselves so if they do find a major problem then thay'll be it for us!
