Your welcome...thats what we are all here 4 hey, to support each other & give any advise we can.....99% of my friends dont understand me at all & what me & my dh have been through, all the tests & waiting between the tests & getting the results....its such a long hard & emotional journey isnt it, so its lovely to have everyones opinions on here...you all understand what im going through

We have been ttc for 16mths now with not a sniff of a BFP Hoping this mth on the clomid will do the trick! How long have you been ttc? We have a beautiful almost 4 year old daughter, so we know it can happen he he.....just hate all the waiting this time around...only took 6 mths to conceive her!

I too have awful spots on my back, again mostly around the time i ov or af comes....they are sore red ones & rub on my clothes, sometimes even just moving my shoulders hurt as they are sometimes in the shoulder blades if u get me

Sanatogen is meant to be great, heard some good reviews on that vit....my dh takes fertile aid.....has taken it for 3 mths now...his count was 17 million & motility was 60% with slow sluggish swimmers...our fs said 'no wonder you are not preg yet!!' even though my dh doc said ' no further action required' after the sperm test!!! she said take zinc etc so we tried the fertile aid....our last fs appointment she was sooo happy with results....21 million & 70% motility...she said we should prob just go off & dtd lots now & its bound to happen but i wanted to go on the clomid which she agreed. I think surely if i have polycysts that must mean there are some mths i do not ovulate??

If you have been given the option to either have ivf or 3 iui's i would def go for the ivf....much more sucess rate.....good luck with your appointment in jan but hopefully you will get ur beautiful BFP b4!!! xx

i too have polycysts on my only ovary...but im ovulating ok still but they have still put me on clomid. My doc doesnt seem to think i have the syndrome part but i beg to differ.....my skin is awful so spotty especially around the time i ovulate & i have excess hair in awful places....sorry tmi lol...but around my nipples & below my belly button, a few on my chest too.....i have to pluck them every other day as they are so black & thick. im not overweight. Is ur husband taking anything 4 the low sperm morphology? can anything be taken? my dh has been taking fertile aid 4 men for the low count & motility he had...its really improved it. Is iui not an option then for you b4 ivf? x
thank you hun for taking your time to reply.

i too have awfull skin i have moderate acne in my back and some on my chest and excess hair in my nipples and in my belly and other places to lol,im 1 stone overweight.

me and my partner are taking sanatogen father and mother to be however he stopped taking it last month as he said its messing up with his bowel movements lol so i need to get him on something else(eny suggestions?)

i could go for iui privatly coz if i opt for iui on the nhs i will not be entitled to ivf however the FS said IVF would be ideal.

how long have you been trying to concieve dancingkaty?

In my 6 complete cycles so far we never got a bfp, and have been told it is highly unlikely we will get one on clomid due to dh only having 10% sperm motility (they like to see at least 50%), but I think the FS just wants to fill the gap between now and IVF if i'm honest!
im sorry it hasent worked for u so far i hope you get your
i might aswell go for it one last time.i was monitered the first 2 months and after that i had no more scans as they said i was responding well to it.i was taking 50mg from cd 2 to cd 6.
i might try it in the new years and see.hopefully it will work again.
Thank you xxx

So you was only monitered for the first couple of cycles! This is where I think the UK are wrong to do that, because on my first 2 cycles of 50mg Clomid I responded fine, but on my 3rd cycle I didnt respond at all and then needed to go up to 100mg. If they had only checked my first 2 months and not after that I would of kept on 50mg but not responded!

I would not normally encourage people to go against what there doctor has said, and for how long treatment should be but I do think if you want to do it then you should, because otherwise you will always wonder what if!

Have you tried acupuncture? I started doing it in July and have been very impressed with the results from it along side using Clomid (one month I got 2 follicles, and the other 2 months I did acupuncture my follicles were the right size 2 days earlier then normal - day 13 - so I could have the HCG jab earlier).
I know it is very expensive as you need it weekly but if you can afford it then it may be worth a go. I was going on my own to start with at 30 euros per session, then can up with a deal that my dh and I went at the same time, one has full body treatment and the other has ear treatment for 40 euros a session!

What i read is that you can have up to some many goes at IUI and then so many goes at IVF depending on where you live on the NHS

I know my PCT do up to 6 cycles of IUI (as its so much cheaper) and up to 3 goes of IVF if you pay for any private this is deducted off the goes the NHS will give u.

I would maybe ring your PCT and find out the entitlement you get with NHS as i am sure IUI is normally offerered first before IVF as its so much cheaper then going straight to IVF..

Might be worth ringing your local PCT or searching on line and finding out..
I have been given 3 months of clomid if that doesnt work we being referrred to F.S who i assume wud proberley mention IUI first..
xxxx
i went on this website that i found a link somewhere on here and it said i would only be allowed one go at IVF or 3 goes at iui but if i choose one of them i cant do the other which is bloody useless im from london (lambeth)

but i will be ringing them to find out for sure.
i think i havent been taken serious by my FS because theres alot of stuff they they could have done eg, lap & dye, metformin, etc
im going to ring the FS up and say that im not vey happy about the lack of information and options.

thanks for replying.

If they give you option then yes IVF is the better one to choose as its more success rate..

i will be doing accupunture in the new year because now that christmas is looming i have to watch my pennies lol i will also be doing reflexology as i have heard it does wonders.

wow 30 euros for accupuncture isent too bad i found a clinic here in london that charge £65 for the first session and £50 after that. you wont believe the amount of money i have wasted these past 5 years

As far as I can remember there is a greater chance of ovarian cancer if you take for more than 6 cycles.

Also clomid is subject to the law of diminishing returns in that it takes about 3 cycles to give you the most benefit, but the benefit tails off thereafter.

That said it would seem some people have it longer than 6 mts but I would speak to your FS. XX

Hiya

I got pregnant on my 7th round of clomid... it was my last chance. I don't know about it being dangerous for 7 or 8 rounds as I was given 7 altogether, I have heard lots of people say they were told if it doesn't work within 6 months, it wont work - but I proved that was wrong lol.

Good luck!
