I'm Currently Feeling: | I've donated eggs to a couple in 2001.. anonymously. The couple asked if I would be willing to donate again two years later and I happily agreed. I never felt "attached", never had any "guilt" and now that I'm pregnant, I appreciate what Ive done for these people and Im glad Ive done it..
Would I do it again? Probably not, only because of the physical toll that the IVF medicine had on me.. One of my ovaries got hyperstimulated and torqued around the fellopian tube, causing me to almost lose it... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have no problem with the idea of it and I think it is great for people who want to go that route.
That being said, my DH is dead set against it and I tend to agree in our case. It is the same way with sperm donors. For us, we have been together so long and are best friends. We want a child that is a little of each of us but if it is not meant to be, I still have my best friend with me and, in the end, that is what is most important right now. Having had ovulation problems my entire life, I have slowly come to this conclusion with my husband, knowing I might have trouble getting pregnant so... you know... |

How cool that you were able to help the same couple twice! I have never met anyone who donated eggs but it is awesome to hear about. Go you! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Once i'm finished having my own children, i would kindly offer as many eggs as i could to a childless couple. I understand the amount of frustration and disapointment couples face, and if i can help or reduce that in any way, i would do anything |

I'm Currently Feeling: | LOL... I live about 45 minutes to an hour north of Anchorage. I should just go buy you the real thing next time I am in town and send it to you. LOL I know right where they are located! LMAO heh heh PM me if ya want some.
They will even make sausage out of the wild game that the hunters bring in. (So macho! )
Back on topic... I have to agree with Fifi83... I think I would have trouble giving out eggs too unless it was to someone I knew personally. I would always wonder about the kid that had my genes. I mean the child would never need to know about me but I would just want to make sure that they had a good life, you know? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | tbh polo princess i had agreed to do it for my best friend who's been ttc for 2-3 years now, shes on clomid atm but we had a discussion (before i fell pregnant) about the possibility of me harvesting my eggs for her having them fertilized (in a laboratory) then implanted to her. i told her that ill do it after i have a baby of my own... we thought it would be years away haha funny how things turn out lol. only said i'd do it after a baby of my own as we read it can cause infertility sometimes donating eggs and she wouldnt want the guilt of me not being able to go on and have children of my own just so she could have one.
i personally dont see the problem i mean if i wasnt TTC when i have periods then the eggs would quite crudely end up on a pad anyway... no use to anyone. and it wouldnt actually be my baby in my eyes the way i see it if she was skint and needed to lend i tenner id lend her it and vice versa so i dont see a problem in lending her a few eggs that would prob go to waste anyway.
id have a problem if she asked me to be a surrogate as i couldnt do that.
she'd be the mum as she would of had it in her womb for 9months it doesnt faze me i just think id have a good bond with my best friend thats all.
we're gonna look into it a bit more once ive had my baby but i have absolutely no problems donating my eggs if i dont plan to use them. |

Do you think you can get to know the people you donated too? If you wanted to of course, you know, like meet them before? |
