Hey guys im 14months TTC and went to the doctors to see if the would be able to do any tests to make sure there is nothing wrong with me or my partner. But the doctor wouldnt help .. she said "How old are you!!!" im only 19, (Not 20 till April) And she told me that they wouldnt do anything with either of us untill we have been trying for atleast 2years, Has anyone else been told this?. She did give me some Folic acid tables to take but they havnt seemed to have helped...
I will be 15months TTC early next month and i know its not that long to wait untill it is 2years now but im kinda scared that there is something wrong with me and i would like to get things sorted out if there is anything as soon as possible.

He probably said that because your still young. I know it still sucks Can you go to another dr?

Hey Zoie.

Im sorry you have had this from your doctor. It seems negative hey. However The NHS rulings are two years of trying before they help anyone.

I know age is a factor if you needed referring. Obviously different PCT's have different rulings. I know ours you need to be over 21 to be referred there.

Don't be disheartened make an appointment with a different doctor and ask them to run some bloods to check you out. Make sure your ovulating etc.

In the meantime take those baby vits, and use those OPK's and hopefully you will get pregnant before you need help. If you have any other sypmtoms or troubles with your periods you should def go back and get them to check you out further.

Thanks for your support guys glad to hear that everyone has towait 2years before being refered and that is not just me makes me feel slightly better.
I have been to my practic nurse and she has taken some blood to test my thyroid ... because im overweight that could be making it harder to concieve lol Felt like a whale =P im only a size 16 and i personally didnt think i was "Obese" but hey ho i will gladly go along with anything if it helps me get pregnant!.
But mean while ill keep taking my folic acid and charting my ovulation and fingers crossed i wont need any help off them!.

Hiya, I just wanted to let you know that i had to wait 2 years before the doctors would do anything too. We went a few times and told them of our issues but they just said we were still young so just go away and keep trying. It turns out that i have PCOS so i'm glad now i am on meds. I hope there's nothing wrong with you and you get your BFP soon.
