(Disclaimer: I am sure this book is great if you have normal cycles but I don't so hence my frustration!)

Okay everyone... I seriously want to scream. This is me --->

So... lots and lots of TTC women and my best friend from HS have recommended the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" because they were like, "It will help so much. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH..." I am like, "great! I so wanna learn more about my body and stuff!" So $25-ish later, I have my book and I start reading and reading and then start getting madder and madder.

Why? My doctor told me "Do Not Temp. It is a waste of time for you since you do not ovulate and have no cycles to even monitor. You will get confused and it will not give you information that you are looking for." Okay... so then I start thinking that I will chart my cervical fluid but the book says that doesn't work if your periods are abnormal. WTH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! So what the hell am I supposed to read.

Now I am $25 more broke with a book that would really help some women but not me! Then I went to the library and borrowed another fertility book and even that one was like for normal people. I seriously wanted to chuck the book out my front door. I want to learn more but I am quickly learning that there is nothing to learn until I actually start getting something similar to cycles. SO UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know of a good book written about anovulation?!

For now, I just want to the world but that is unhealthy. Thankfully, my hubby is so understanding. Without him, I would probably lose it.

I can understand how you feel!
What I would seriously do is try to find out what may cause the lack of ovulation. I know that you may think you have no control over this but the body and mind are very powerful. Plus life style and diet can have a huge effect. Do some searches on the internet and look into researching books on alternative approaches. Obviously it's a hormonal thing, the problem is the NHS, all the time just talk about western or orthadox medicine and if they havent got a 'tablet' for it then they dismiss it. Eastern medicine looks at the whole person and treats the wholebeing not just symptoms!

Look sorry to bleat on, I mean I'm more or less in the same boat as you.
I have done alot of research on this as I trained as a massage therapist/ aromatherapist and I try not to take western medicine unless I have to!

Maybe try yoga, accupuncture, meditation, nutritionist?

Hi,
I don't personally know anything about your condition but i read your post and had a look through google. The first book is about inferility as a whole but has a full section about anovulation, its treatments, causes and lists ways to help, it is written by two leading subfertility experts at guy's so it may be worth a look.
The second is wholey dedicated to the condition and covers absolutely everything, it's pretty expensive ( £27.99 ) about $60.00.
Anyway have a look for yourself and good luck for the future

I understand your fustration, and like pixielou suggestion is great a friend of mine has very irregular periods but managed to get her BFP after a year of trying (although the doc siad it was a fluke). She is currently TTC #2 and tried reflexology, she got her BFP after a month of trying but sadly m/c at about 10 weeks. Her reflexologist which happens to be her SIL also had another patient who got a BFP after a long time trying, so maybe there is something in it. I have had two sessions and it really is intriganing what they can tell you and is very relalxing.
