Poor response to IVF stims....

My first IVF cycle isn't looking too hot as I'm not responding very well to stimming. Lots of little follicles, a few bigger but my eostrogen levels are also lagging behind.

My scan on Monday will determine whether it's time to give up or not

Has anybody had poor response and stimmed a little longer and things worked out, or am I just kidding myself??

The clinic I attend for scans have told me if I was their patient, they would abandon the cycle. But my clinic (in England) have said they're happy at the minute and want me to keep stimming to see if I catch up.

I'm so confused

Sorry to hear that Mrs R

Have they upped your dosage of stim drug over the weekend?

Fingers crossed the follies will have grown sufficiently by Monday. If the clinic said they're happy for now then that's a positive sign.

Best of luck to you x

No my stims haven't been upped since my first scan on Wednesday, that's what makes it even more confusing.

I've been told it's too late to up the dosage now anyway as this needs to be done in the first few days of injections to make any difference

My doc up'd my dosage 4 days before the trigger shot.

Honey anything is possible. Look at Lioness whose nurse wanted to cancel her cycle, but her FS kept going ahead, she got 6 eggs, 2 blasto's put in and is now peeing BFP waiting for bloods to confirm.

Don't give up hope.. stick to alot of fluids, high protien diet and rest.

Hang in there MrsR . Bek has given you a good outline of what happened to me. Hang in there, if the nurse wants you to cancel at your next appointment, perhaps get her to ring your FS so they can give their opinion. If it wasn't for our FS who said to keep going ahead and take bloods (which the levels came back really good), I am pretty sure this cycle would have been cancelled. Hang in there , I understand how worrying and hard it can be.

As Bek said, "Don't give up hope.. stick to alot of fluids, high protien diet and rest" (helps your follies grow and respond to the meds)!!! Good luck

Mrs R I am sorry to hear you're not responding as well as you would have hoped. There was a lovely lady from Australia that used to be here, but she's long since moved on for reasons I won't go into. Anyway, she was a poor responder during her first cycle until the last couple of days when she seemed to have a growth spurt. She made it to EC and ET. Try not to get too despondant which, I know, is easier said than done. You just never know what might happen over the next couple of days...

Just out of curiousity ... where are you going for your scans? Are you not going back and forth to Manchester?

Good luck hun

xx

Thanks so much for the positive stories girls.

Best wishes lioness for your official BFP, you've given me a bit of hope when I'm feeling rubbish.

Maz, I had my first and second scan in Manchester, but they want to scan me every 2-3 days at the minute so travelling to Manchster just ain't gonna happen. I had my last scan the Royal on Friday (who said they would cancel it if I was theirs) and have another scan tomorrow at the Royal to check for progress.

I'm absolutely knackered at the minute with all the running back and forward to hospital, just wish I know if it was all worth it

Been doing lots of resting this weekend. DH is off walking the dog up a mountain whilst I'm lying on the sofa, think I might watch Twilight. Have been feeling a bit rough today, a bit like I'm getting the flu.

But I know it's probably just down to tiredness and stress so gonna take it easy and eat some bacon sarnies (for the protein obviously lol)

Will let you very nice ladies know how it goes tomorrow when I get in from work x
