spotting before AF???

Hi im currently on my first cycle of clomid & as usual im worrying about things i didnt mention to my fs when i saw her last week!! have tried to call my fs receptionist but she is away til the 7th nov agghhh!!!

I am worried about my leutal phase......i think i should of got my LH surge on the thurs 8th oct as i used opk's from jan-june of this year & i always got my smiley face on the same day of my cycle...altho my AF didnt come on properly til the sunday 25th oct i was spotting from wed 21st....i dont get how i work out my leutal phase if i spot for 4 days like i have this mth.....if i count the days b4 i s[potted then i only had a leutal phase of 10 days??? is this long enough??? surely if they say implantation should happen 7-10 days past ov then could my progesterone levels be too low & there could be a chance i start to spot & not let it implant??? ive sptted b4 AF arrives since january & i did mention it to my doctor once & she was not concerned at all....i had bloodwork done to see if i was ovualting in jan & aug of this year....i think the progesterone test was in that...nothing has been mentioned .....my fs has seen the results of these tests so surely if there was something wrong she would of picked it up??? just dont want to go through getting my hopes up by taking clomid when there is still something else wrong.....surely spotting for 3/4 days b4 AF arrives is not good???? xxx

Hi. I sometimes have spotting the day before AF but I have read that you should count the first day of fresh blood (sorry-tmi) as day 1 of the new cycle, rather than any spotting. In that case, your luteal phase should be fine but you could mention your concerns to the nurse when you have your ultrasound tomorrow maybe if you can't get through before? If your fs has seen the blood test results, I'm sure they would have mentioned something before? Try not to worry too much and concentrate on making those eggies grow nice and strong this week.

Hope it all goes well....

x

I will be interested in what happens at your appointment tomorrow as I have EXACTLY the same problem. I always have spotting about 4 or 5 days before my period is due. I have made an appointment with my Dr to see what she thinks, but I also am worrying about having a short luteal phase. Hope all goes well tomorrow for you.
