Started taking Clomid

Hiya ladies

I started taking Clomid yesterday 50mg CD2-6 for unexplained infertility, prescribed for 6 months.

I'm slightly nervous about getting any side effects but apart from that i'm happy to be on it and am praying it works for us.

How many of you ladies have suffered side effects of this treatment and what were they? It's the mood swings that worry me (and my DH) the most to be honest - i'm moody enough as it is at the moment!

they gave you 6 months prescription? That's a lot of cycles....Are they going to be monitoring you at all during the next 6 months?

Some of my side effects were mood swings, blurred vision, headaches and sometimes a bit of nausea - none of them were extreme thought...

I did not have any side effects to speak of during the first 6 cycles. The 7th I was very emotional though.

Yes, they gave me the prescription for 6 months and no monitoring, just an appointment to go back in May next year to start IUI if this doesn't work xx

hi last week i was given 3 mths worth.....started them on mon night as that was day 2, ive got to take them days 2-6 too. I am also on 50mg.....i am being monitored this mth, got my 1st scan on fri then i have to go back over the next few weeks for about 4 more follicular scanning to do be done...think it just depends where abouts you live if you do get the monitoring.....im only being monitored for this first cycle so im hoping they can tell me when im exactly ov & the right time to DTD then i will know 4 the other 2 cycles too!!! So far i have taken 3 of the 5 pills & im feeling fine!.....tues i felt bit tired but think i was just bored lol!!! hope it goes ok for you....ive been taking them at night as i heard on here that thats the best time to take it so you sleep through most side effects that u may get??? i have also started taking epo as heard clomid may dry your ewcm up.....xx

I take clomid 50mg CD2-CD6 and I am currently on CD10 - I am not being monitored either. I didn't have any side effects at all felt completely normal! Good Luck

Hi Hope, I am the same as you, was given 6 months, no monitoring, take it 2 months on, then 1 month off, days 2 - 6, I had this month off and will start round 3 once Af shows in about 7 days time.

I take mine at night, that way I dont have to deal with too many side effects duing the day, mainly major ov pain but that is great, felt so much more of what was going on with my body, 2nd round, it did leave me feeling really low and struggled with feeling anything other than negativity. but at least all these symptoms show that its working!!

Well i'm on day 2 and feel ok, apart from i've noticed that about 3-4 hours after I take it I feel hot and flushed
