First time taking Clomid

Hi All,

I started taking Clomid yesterday because I've been having long and irregular cycles anything from 35-56 days. Blood tests have confirmed I am ovulating just not regularly...anyway my question is when can I expect to ovulate after taking my last tablet on CD6? I'm currently on 50mg.

Thanks

Hi, firstly good luck with the Clomid!!! Secondly, I understand it can be anything from 5-10 days after taking your last tablet. Im sure if this is wrong the other girls on here will put me right they are alot more experienced than I am.

Thanks for your response. Thats good news so I will be ovulating anywhere between CD11 and CD16 (if it works!) that is going to be so much better than waiting till CD33 and more to see a positive on the OPK's!

Hey, I'm on my first cycle with clomid too (100mg from CD3 to CD7) - but I also had some scans to check the follicles growing. On CD 13, doc told me to take an HCG injection and to BD 18 hours later. I think it's the best way to know for sure when we ovulate! Good luck for us!

I ovulate around day 18 on clomid. I would suggest tracking your temp to see when you do and other fertility signs to see when you are going to. This cycle however I didn't ovulate until day 43, so who knows.

Thanks for your advice.

I'm not having HSG injections just taking the clomid - really hope it works. I've only started temping this month so will be using OPK's as well as checking CM.

I ovulated around day 14 on Clomid, but had monitoring scans to check every month - is you FS doing any sort of monitoring?

Good luck x
