Hi! Can I move over here?

Hi ladies. I was hoping I could crash over here for a little while? I was over in the TTC forum but I am watching everyone get their BFPs and don't think I will ever get mine.

I have been TTC for about a year and we are going through fertility tests this month. I will be going for my day 3 ultrasound and bloodwork soon and then an HSG and Hysteroscopy. I am soooo nervous and dreading these procedures so much.

Unfortunately, I am sort of losing my enthusiasm for for this whole process and it is becoming much more "work" than I thought. I could really use the support of others going through this!!!

Thanks for listening!!!

Hi Deeni,

Sorry to see you here, hopefully you stay will be a short one

I know the testing seems very daunting, but it's important to try to remember yourself, as scary as it all sounds - it's still progress. Even if you don't get news you were hoping for - news itself is still a step forward, as treatments are endless!!

Wishing you lots of luck

Of course you can move over here. Sounds like this is where you belong. I will tell you when I had my HSG I was in tears because it is painful. The will say "slight discomfort", but that really doesn't cover it. Wishing you the best of luck and welcome. Keep us updated on what they find or don't find. Has OH had sperm analysis yet? Don't lose hope and I totally understand it is hard to see others get what you want sooo badly even though you are happy for them.

I was telling you about my HSG to prepare you, not to scare you. It is worth it the pain to know whether your tubes are open or not.

Thanks for replying! I'm sorry that we all have to be in this section!

NeyNey, I can't wait to try to get some answers to what is going on but at the same time I am worried there will be no answers (unexplained infertility) or there will be no treatment for whatever it is. I guess we'll see.

DH had his SA last week. I am nervous to find out the results so I haven't called about it yet. LOL. I guess I can always talk to the Dr. about it during our next appointment.

kairzh7, the HSG sounds awful but it is over pretty quickly right?

Hi Deeni, welcome aboard and I hope your stay is short. I was in the TTC side of things awhile ago and I found it hard, girls were saying how hard its been to get their BFP and it took 4 months!!!! I WISH!!!!! Anyway, we are all good over here and there is a wealth of knowledge. Feel free to create a journal in the journal section if you need somewhere to vent. As for the HSG, everyone experiences it a little different. For some it is only a mild discomfort, and for others it can be more painful than they thought. As for me, I took 2 neurofen 1hr prior to the procedure and the procedure lasted about 15 mins (approx). I found it uncomfortable as I dont like being pocked and prodded at the best of times, let alone "down there" . I was allowed to take DH in which was also good. Best of luck with your HSG, have you been given a date yet?

Hi Deeni

Hope you stay is short and sweet!

I didn't find my HSG to uncomfortable, the cramping afterwards was worse for me.

Hi and welcome to LTTC

When I had my HSG, I was expecting slight discomfort, but for me it hurt like hell. Luckily it did not last long at all, and I just had some very minor cramping for a few minutes after they were done. Make sure you take some advil or tylenol beforehand.

Hope you get some answers!

No, it doesn't take that long and I was able to watch the screen and see that my tubes were open, so I had that assurance the same day though I didn't get the official results for a week. The procedure starts similar to a Pap, when it got worse for me was when they injected the dye through the cervix. That made me start cramping really bad. For me once the removed whatever they used to inject it I only had mild cramping. At the time I was getting very severe cramps with my period. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Good luck. Hope it isn't too terrible for you. I know if I'm expecting something to be bad it is usually better than I expect so I hope that is the case for you.
