Quick clomid symptom question

Can anyone help..........Im on my first round with clomid 50mg ,on cd14 - cd18 approx, I had a really heavy dull ache in my right ovary followed by ALOT of cm, now on cd23 and the heavy dull ahce has come back again in my right ovary!!! Can anyone shed any light on this, has anyone else had similar symptoms like this on clomid?

I thought it maybe my af going to arrive but I think thats probably way too soon for that!!

Any advice would be really appreciated x

Hi pasteljay,
I get strange aches in my ovaries at different times all month while on clomid. when did you ovulate? sometimes the pain can continue after ovulation, i think because the fluid that's in the follicles can irritate in that area after the follicles burst. That happened for me during my first cycle- I was uncomfortable for about 3 days after ovulation. I'm cd21 today and I'm still feeling my right ovary as well- it's a mystery exactly what's going on in there, but I guess we have to assume the ovaries are working hard and they are swollen. Are you having scans? They will check to make sure you don't have cysts if you start another next cycle...let's hope you won't have to!

Hi Brooklyn1, firstly thanks for the reply I was beginning to think I was on my own there!!!
I have no clue if I have ovulated, Im under the impression I was supposed to ovulate last week if the clomid has worked. I remember when I was ovulating on my own a while back I did get the same feeling and also the cm changed aswell, which is whats happened this time, so I am presuming I ovulated the end of last week or maybe Saturday (IM PRAYING I DID ANYWAY).
I have my bloods done on cd21, but wont get the results of them until mid November, they are not scanning me, it seems like forever and a day!!!
I did have a scan done a couple of months ago and everthing was clear.
Guess I will just have to wait to see if af arrives, when she decides to appear, as it was 7.5 weeks last time!!!! Nothing like a bit of pressure eh!!!! xx

I would try opks to track ov. I also am not too sure about your dosing regime as I am on cd3-7 or 4-8..... I would have thought CD14 was quite late to take it as the follies would be formed/nearly formed by then, however I am not a dr.

Good luck though but I def recommend temps and opks otherwise you might find yourself flying in the dark, so to speak> XX

Pasteljay, I have pains in my ovaries throughout my cycles but mostly around ov. At this time they are really strong then at other times in the month they are there but not as strong.

I would start taking your temperature tho as this really helps pin point ov and gives you a better chance. Good luck!

Crypto1976, sorry think you misunderstood my first message, I meant that on cd14 - cd18 I had the heavy dull ache in my ovaries, I actually take clomid on cd2 - cd6.

Excuse me if I sound thick but when do I start taking my temps, do you need a special thermometer and at what time do you take them? If I do opks do I start them at the beginning of my cycle?

Sorry if I sound a bit dim, I have never gone down these routes as I didnt want to get too consumed by it all, but I guess now I am on the Clomid and its my last chance maybe I should go for gold and see what happens!!!

Thanks ladies x

Ah doh! Sorry I am so stupid!

If you do temps you would probably start as close to the start of your cycle as you can, ideally cd1, and use a basel therm, you can get them for a few £ on ebay or at a chemist.

It is a bit all consuming but its quite interesting too. I just pop my temps into fertility friend and it makes a pretty graph!

Good luck hun, hopefully you wont need to temp and will get a bfp! XXXX

LOL........thats ok its the sort of thing I would do!!!! I blame the hormones!!

Well fingers crossed I wont need to do it and this could be my month (not holding out too much hope though), but if its not then maybe temps is the way forward!!!! Thanks xx

and just to add to what crypto is saying, you can start with the opk's about 2-3 days after finishing your last clomid pill. They say that ovulation should occur 5-10 days after finishing the clomid, but good to start a bit early just in case. You can also get cheap opks online on ebay or through amazon here in the US.
