Not exactly having problems, but thought this was the best place to post!

Have been charting for 4 months and am on third month of TTC.

Looks like I have around a 10 day luteal phase, I've read (I know I probably shouldn't be googling) that this can be a problem as it doesn't allow the egg enough time to implant.

I started taking Vit B6 last month, hoping that it will lengthen my luteal phase.

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this, would be soooo good to hear of girls with a short luteal phase who conceived anyway.

My luteal phase is 10 days.

We conceived the first month we took a chance during my fertile time.

I have been charting for 5 years and wondered if I would have troubles too, but this time around I didn't.

I think LPD (Luteal phase defect) is for women whose LP is 9 days or less, so we're probably okay.

Just think, we don't really have quite a TWW, just a 10 day wait

I got my bfp one day prior to my AF being due to arrive, when I used a cheapy dipstick pregancy test. It was faint, but positive. Just to make sure I waited 7 days then repeated same test and got the good dark positive.

I think this is one of the most beneficial reasons to chart. A woman can see each phase of her cycle and can determine if there is a simple reason she's not conceiving. There's a lot of biological information contained in the cycle that saves a lot of testing and $$$ on fertility treatments.

Margerle probably knows much better than me, but I do believe it CAN be a potential problem, though not to say that you couldn't still concieve. I suppose it depends on when you REALLY ovulate every month (sometimes it's off a day or so) and the egg needs time to implant before your uterus starts flushing itself out. If the egg hasn't implanted yet and your period starts it could be flushed out. BUT like I said it really depends. It's hard to know for sure on that sort of thing without talking to a doctor. Good luck hun! And remember, a LOT of us have some kind of complication and still concieve just fine. (I have endometriosis AND a bicornuate uterus- which basically means my uterus is divided in half. And I'm on my second healthy pregnancy).

I have not been using ovulation tests yet, but plan to do so this month to get a more specific idea of ovulation date. I have just bought lots of cheapo ones off the internet!

No matter when you ovulate, you will always have the same number of days in your LP. (Or you should have the same number ). In a 12 month period (with 14 cycles) I have ONE cycle where the LP is 11 days.

Certainly the longer the LP the better the chance that the baby has a chance to implant as Madwolf said . You mentioned you were taking b6 and that's wonderful!... See how much that adds to your LP over the next 6 months (if you don't get pregnant before then) LOL.

Certainly mention your fear of a short LP to your HCP, though when I mentioned it to a HCP one time I just got a blank look.
