I'm Currently Feeling: | Am I alone here? Hi... I was just going through a lot of the TTC pages and it seems like everyone has such normal periods but I don't. I average every 6-7 months between cycles so I never know when to expect it. (I have PCOS.)
Is there anyone else here that has similar problems? I am feeling alone in the world at the moment. Sorry for being a baby.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi,
You are so not alone !! Funnilly I was exactly the same (I also suffer from severe PCOS, terrible pain all month round and cyst growth plus the unexplained weight gain) !
When I was in my late teens I went on the pill to attempt to get regular periods which worked. When I was 22 I came off the pill and in that year I only got 2 periods !!! the following year I got my period once in four months and went to see a doctor (because I only found out I have PCOS in 2007!!), I went back on the pill again as my doctor was far from helpful... I then remained on the pill until I was 27 and again came off the pill. I only got 5 periods that year. I then went back on the pill and came off in 2006 when I turned 30 to try and have babies... funnilly enough my periods are now ever 36-37 days but they have sort of regulated. Its not very helpful in terms of ovulation but tbh am not charting anymore, am just going with the flow and having sex as often as possible so I dont miss the ovulation time...
You are totally not alone... I hope that your periods regulate themselves as I have found now that I am in my 30s that finally my periods have reached some type of routine and bear in mind that if you are trying to conceive that many many women with PCOS and less periods still manage to fall pregnant.
I hope this helps

| Hi genkigemini,
I also have PCOS and my cycles are anything between 50 days and 6 months. I have been ttc since Oct 2006 and finding things really difficult, although this month I seem to have ovulated around cd23 (now cd32) so maybe there won't be such a big gap this time. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thank you guys. I really appreciate the support. Because my cycles are so irregular, I have not bothered to monitor yet because I get into this funk of "what good will it do." I am going to go to the doctor on Wed and I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that she is willing to help me.
My husband is coming a long with me and if she does blow me off, I am going into town to the book store and I am just going to start monitoring my cycles anywhay. I will keep you all updated!
Thanks again for the support! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks so much. Yeah, I am a super lucky girl. My husband is the best. He listens to all my weird PCOS stuff and can judge my mood swings and stuff. It is really funny. Than again, we've been together almost 10 years so maybe that is normal. LOL.
Thanks for the well wishes. I will post about my appt results as soon as I get home. *crosses fingers* |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm sorry to hear that you have PCOS, I can't say that I know what you are going through but I wanted you to know that you aren't alone, I do know people who've had it. Good luck through your TTC journey, I know that you will get there eventually |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have very severe PCOS as well. I would bleed for 6 months straight (VERY heavy, had to miss chunks of HS), would stop for a few days and bleed another 6 months. Then the OB put me on BCPs, I went off of them and never had regular periods, though, thankfully, no more 6mo ones. We started TTC 2 years ago and unerwent an HSG, surgery (for gallbladder, she wouldn't let me on drugs unless I had it done) and a lot of provera. I was on provera for 6 cycles to get regular, course, I had to take it to stay regular as well. After my HSG, which dertermined that my tubes weren't blocked (woo hoo!) she put me on 50mgs of Clomid. I ovulated my first cycle of it, but did not fall pregnant. The next month I took another round of 50mgs and went for my blood test. They told me I had NOT ovulated that month. They gave me provera to bring on my period and wanted me to take 100mgs of clomid that cycle. I held off on the provera, just in case, cause I FELT like I had ovulated. I took a HPT and it was negative, so I took the provera. DH and I talked about it and decided that I wouldn't take the clomid cause I hated what it did to me (how I acted, felt, etc) and I couldn't even imagine how 100mgs would be. We figured we would wait two years (or more even), stopped the DCF adoption process we were doing (homestudies and such) and concentrated on ourselves and our pets. I had come to terms with the fact that we may not have any kids, ever and was okay with it. When my period was 4 days late after taking the provera DH convinced me to take another HPT...and I got my BFP. I know it sounds cliche', but once I stopped worrying and feeling so disappointed, I got PG. I guess I had ovulated on that last cycle of clomid...just 2 weeks later than they thought I would! Don't give up hope, it'll happen eventually (even though I know that it sucks to wait). You're definietly not alone! |
