Referred to fertility specialist- appt t'row!

Like the title says OH and I are off to the fertility specialist tomorrow following 2 miscarriages and a chemical. I have already been seen by another clinic locally and had all the tests done when they diagnosed PCOS. This appointment is at the acute care trust and I really don't know what to expect, will they doo all the blood tests again. OH has already had SA done, will they do that again? He's brickin it..

Letter says i will be seen by the Fertilility Nurse specialist at this appointment and the consultant at subsequent appointments.

Confused....

Good Luck with your appointment. It is nerve racking but I'm sure you will be fine. I can't seethem testing ur hubby again. They may offer you a scan or book you in for a lap and dye to take a closer look at things. Someone with pcos maybe able to advise you how they deal with this. Keep us updated on how u get on x

Hey honey, sorry for your loses

They will do alot of blood viles on you and one on your hubby. Reason for both bloods is genetic testing, the remainder for you will vary from thyroid, lupus etc.

Good luck for tomorrow.

when i went for my first fs appointment it was with the nurse too,all they done was go through our details, medical history, what tests we had had done, etc then we got an appointment with the specialist.it felt like a bit of a wasted journey really but its just how they do it where i live.
good luck for tomorrow.

Hi Jen35

Sorry for your loss.

I went to my appointment with the fertility nurse today with my DH and were told that because i had had all my blood tests and scan done in the last 6 months it doesn't need to be repeated yet. My DH has to do another SA test just so they can compare all the previous results. Not sure if it will be the same at your hospital. We were also told that we will have to wait 2 months for our appointment with the doctor so i can have a dye test on my tubes and make sure all the results are back. But again i am not sure if it will be the same for you as the hospitals seem to differ so much and not sure what scans etc you have had done.

The nurse was really nice and knowledgeable and put us both at ease as we were both quite anxious.

Hope it all goes well for you.

Good luck x
