Retroverted Uterus

I was just wondering if anyone else out there has a retroverted uterus and if this has caused you any problems when TTC or during pregnancy? I get really bad periods and had a laparoscopy 5 years ago which highlighted I had a retroverted uterus but everything else was ok. During my last two smear tests the nurse had difficulties locating my cervics and this was really uncomfortable. I've been TTC for 4 months and have been told that my retroverted uterus should not cause me any problems but it would be great to hear from others who have a retroverted uterus and their experiences. Thanks, Carla

My uterus was retroverted. Only found out after I found out I was prego. From what I understand it doesn't prevent you from conceiving and in most cases the uterus corrects itself as your pregnancy progresses. I'm currently 33 weeks and so far so good so no worries hun, you should be just fine.

As Mango, I found out I had a retroverted uterus when I was pregnant with my first. I ended up having a miscarriage with that baby but have been able to get pregnant without complications and now I have 3 year old son and expecting another. I'm sure you're fine hon

Hi guys - thanks for that. I don't know of anyone else who has one you see - I know its not a huge issue but its good to hear from others who have this and their experiences. I've only been TTC for 4 months - so fingers crossed it will happen for me soon.

i found out when i had an untrasound done last year (looking for to see if i had an ulcer not pregnancy related). Ive had a couple of uncomfortable smears and the doctors glasses fell of when she was doing it and lusghed and said it was definately retroverted! Apparently 1 in 5 women have a retroverted uterus. I get lowe back pain and really bad period pain and heavy periods so it might be related. Ive read your more likely to have theses symptoms when your womb is titled!
