plz help ivf doctor gave me clomid any advice???

we went to see our ivf doctor on 18th june and she had told us our best option was ivf but we would need to pay nearly £3000 which is impossible at the moment she told us my right fallopian tube is fine (had the left one removed due to ectopic) she said she doesnt see any reason why i cant fall pregnant and it be successful without any help but as its been two years since the left tube was removed and ive only fallen once but had a mc got 4 angels in heaven now our ivf doctor gave me clomid to try for 4 months she said because i ovulate ok shes not convinced itll increase our chances but said to try anyway so i was just wondering if theres anyone in a similar situation? or if anyone has used clomid and had a successful pregnancy? im hoping and praying itll help my period was 4 days late until i started last nite am gutted again but gotta keep strong got to start the first lot of clomid tomorrow id really appreciate any help girls xxxxxxx

It's their 'magic weapon' - their drug of choice. There have been a few people who have got pregnant off Clomid on the forum. I was given it whilst waiting for IVF also. If nothing else, it confirmed that I have an ovulation problem. I think it just pacifies a lot of women, makes them think that they are at least doing SOMETHING to try to maximise their chances which is better than doing nothing at all. I'm still not really sure why it's prescribed to women who DO actually ovulate. To make them release more than one egg, they say, giving a better chance of fertilisation? Could be that. Maybe that's why you were given it.

Hi all,
i have heard lots of success stories about CLOMID, so its really a magic weapon.
well, i had completed three cycles of clomid as per doctors suggestion (from feb2010 to may2010). then what i didnt conceive. so she wrote a BIG one on my papers "STOP CLOMID NOW"
my hubby's tests were carried out and he was diagnosed low sperm count. then doctor prescribed him CLOMID for 6weeks 25mg.and I am on folic acid only.

lets see how much successful it is for both of us.its my ovulation week with day 18 going on. next week would decide any good news..

Lots of baby dust to all of you dears..........

Hi Hun
it's worth giving it a shot. I had a ruptured ectopic in 2007 and lost part of my right ovary and the tube. I was given clomid after this but it never worked for me. However you have gotten pregnant since so I would say you have a good chance. I'd try it then ask for a lap and dye mine found adhesions , scars preventing my left ovary and tube getting together. We paid just under 3k for ivf as like you already have a child I was extremely lucky that against the odds it worked for me x good luck and I'm sure you'll get there in the end x
