HSG showed 1 blocked tube!

I have just had my HSG and it showed that my right tube is completely blocked!! It seems it was probably caused by having my appendix out and the infection I had after. I am a bit shell shocked. I never even considered that the appendectomy could have done this - although it seems obvious now.
Does anyone have any idea what my chances are of conceiving naturally? -I assume there is still a lot of hope as long as my left ovary is working properly! Although added to a not great SA.....

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

There are lots of ladies with only one tube who go on to have a baby for example Faerie gave birth a couple of weeks ago - have a look at her journals.

Good luck!

I don't any answers but wanted to wish you lots of luck! As you said as long as the left side works I would think your chances of conceiving are still pretty good.

I don't have experience of this, but just wanted to say good luck with your ttc journey.

Would they do something to 'unblock' it?

I don't really know what we do from here. Our next appointment isn't until October but I think I am going to try to get an earlier appointment to discuss everything. The worst thing is not knowing. The radiographer said "you only need one to get pregnant" but we have already been told "it only takes one sperm" when we got our SA back and it is a little annoying - I guess I just want someone to tell me that it will happen for us - I hate not knowing!

I assume though, as long as the other one is ok they wouldn't try to unblock it.

I don't know what they will do - but certainly there is hope for you. I like your idea about an earlier appointment. It would be good to have a plan in place and some questions answered. Good luck!

I'm sure they will suggest some things to do medically. Of course 1 tube is not as good as two - but still, one tube is better than none

Perhaps if they don't suggest something you can do some research and make the suggestions yourself, don't be afraid to speak your mind hun.

I also only have one tube ( left one is blocked due to surgery) You still have an excellent chance conceiving with one tube. Good luck to you
