No matter where your cervix is located, you should not have difficulty getting pregnant. The sperm can swim into the cervix and will find it wherever it may be. The difficulty may arise in the type of delivery you may have. Usually, during pregnancy the cervix and the uterus straighten out and there is no problem. However, if there is a problem anatomically, you may have to consider delivery by cesarean section. There is no way to know this prior to becoming pregnant. If your cervix is severely retroverted, you may have difficulty conceiving. However, this is extremely rare. I would speak to your doctor and ask, specifically, what exactly is the position of your cervix and what are any problems you may face. x

I don't think that it is hugely wonky. maybe may lack of conceiving is just fate. Maybe the time is wrong right now. Who knows. Everything happens for a reason. Thanks for your advice hun. Its always good to get others points of view. xxx

not a problem

Hi Livi,

I had an appointment at the hospital a cople of months ago and I mentioned to the nurse that my mum had a tilted womb and it took her about a year to conceive, and could this be a problem if I had the same? She replied that no, definately does not make a difference whatsover then examined me and said that I don't have it anyway. Apparantly the womb is kind of swaying or floating and it just tips back. The nurse I saw seemed to really know her stuff so I would definately trust her word. Please check for yourself though cos obviously I'm not a doctor, lol!

Wombs can be tilted either forward or backward. Mine is anteverted (tileted forward).. my dr advised me to lay on my belly after having intercourse to ensure the sperm have an easier journey to the egg (i.e. helped along by gravity)...

I have retroverted too... the docs said it makes no difference whatsoever, but without wanting to give tmi, she did suggest doggy style as best for conception! ha ha!... maybe give that a try, then lie on belly!
