I feel like my life is on hold

Just a rant really:

I live for the morning when I temp and then spend an hour trying to decide what the latest temp means in relation to the rest of my chart

I can't really plan nights out with the girls as I don't want to drink alcohol on the 2ww just in case

I then don't want to go out the week before O in case the alcohol affects it

I can't plan a holiday for later in the year in case I'm heavily pregnant by then

I haven't booked tickets to my favourite festival this year for the same reason

BUT I'm also very aware that by doing this I'm missing out on so much and it might all be for nothing, I could be in the same position this time next year too...
Where do you draw the line??

Hi completely know where your coming from, being ttc for 20 months now and feel like our lifes on hold while going thru this rollercoaster journey. DH and i have had a big chat (he certainly has alot more PMA than me) and we've decided to book hols so we've got plenty to look forward to and if we fall pg before any of them cancelling them will be a joy to us both!!!!

Same here - we put everything on hold. Not booked holidays in case we're pregnant by then, not decorated the bedrooms hoping we'll need to plan in a nursery soon. But we've recently decided to sod it, we're going to decorate anyway, and if we have to redecorate for a nursery it'll be a joy - and same with having to cancel a holiday. I can understand both states of mind, reckon we'll probably swing between them both until we finally get to that magic bfp!

You are completely right girls - nothing would make me happier than to cancel a holiday or being heavily pregnant sat in a muddy field.

I think I need to get everything in perspective and try and get on with some sort of normality. I can't think of a better way to spend my 2ww than looking through holiday brochures.

I'm totally with you on this! Draw the line and carry on with your life because we never know what's going to happen. I've stuck in a job I hated for the maternity pay and almost turned down being a bridesmaid in case I was a fat pregnant lady in waiting all in vain. You need to stay sane in this crazy world of TTC.

Hays, doesn't 2007 sound like such a long time ago? We started TTC on Jan 07 and we are now into our 3rd year of TTC, OMG that hurts!

I could have been the author of this post as well - I know exactly what you mean! I went to see my sister the weekend before last and feigned a headache the whole Saturday night so I'd have the excuse for not drinking (just in case) - got home and 2 days later got me!

There is a real danger that life slips by whilst ttc - with each passing month I'm coming to the conclusion that I can't let that happen but it's not easy!

Jeanettekaren - Soooooo know how you feel, but like the others I feel that to cancel a holiday for that reason would make me so happy! So get booking...

Also my friend (who annoyingly conceived on her 1st month of trying, but that's another story) has some great memories and photos of last years Glastonbury whilst she was heavily pregnant

I am right there with you girls and this morning felt like writing this exact post.

It has taken us some time but we booked a holiday with friends in Mauritius for May and will go wether we are pregnant or not and have virgin Pina Coladas if we are..........................but our lives are still on hold.

We can chose to drink in the tww, I am going to try and do this the next time around and we can even try and make an effort to go to gym but won't we still be wondering if when we get a BFN if it had something to do with those decisions.
Won't we will still analyze ever twinge, pain or sore boob.
I think it is our minds that are the problem or at least I know that, this is my biggest problem. Our minds are on hold and I honestly wish I knew a way we could stop that but I think the only time it will move on is when we get that BFP, everthing else is a bit grey.

Sorry jeanettekaren I am a bit low on the PMA at the moment, I think the best thing we can do is just be there for one another and do as the girls have said try and plan normal things like holidays and decorating and know that we all know how hard it is to do that

hi,
i'm new and not sure if i'm in the right forum room so sorry if not.
We are ttc for the last 10 months.10 years ago i had an ovary and fallopian tube removed due to a ruptured ovarian cyst.
In Oct 08 i had a miscarriage. In Dec 08 my gnae found another ovarian cyst so i had a laparoscopy in Dec 08, i had loads of adhesions and endometriosis which were lasered out. My surgeon didn't touch the cyst as said he was hoping it would go away itself, but it didnt. So last week i had a laparotomy and the cyst was removed. So i'm sore now and off work for 6 weeks. I'm just wondering how long should we wait before trying after the laparotomy. Any info/advice would be great
thanksx x
