Endo

Hello ladies

Im due to start IUI soon once, all my bloods have been done etc..

BUT im still convinced something is wrong, and I want a LAP done, the gynae insisted on only doing an HSG as he said thats all i need, but how does he no that I dont have Endo or anything??? I want to make sure i am all clear before I get my hopes up with IUI.

I have all the symptoms of endo, apart from painful !

My periods have got worse, the spotting has got worse, the pains are worse, and it hurts to have a poo when is here, and thats the only time my bowels do open!!! Sorry for TMI but im in two minds wether to push for a lap before IUI or not.

the symptoms are:

severe period pain - this has got worse
back pain during menstruation - always
pain during sexual intercourse - never had this
changes to periods, such as a small loss of blood before the period is due (spotting), irregular bleeding or heavy periods - my periods are getting worse, and i have loss of blood as in spotting sometimes 5 days before afinfertility
painful bowel movements - yep
difficulty becoming pregnant - YUP
fatigue - always always tired
Endometriosis on the bowel or bladder may cause swelling of the lower abdomen and pain when going to the toilet, or blood in the faeces during a period. Symptoms of endometriosis usually disappear after the menopause.

I'd definitely discuss it further with him and ask about it hun. My best friend has severe endo so i know quite a bit about it from her experiences. I would have thought if you had endo that IUI won't work until you've had treatment for the endo- in fact, you prob won't need IUI if the endo isn't that bad and they can laser some of it away.
I'd definitely bring it up and push him for an answer as to why he isn't checking for this when you feel you have a lot of the symptoms.

I would push for it if I were you...my old Dr. brushed me off years ago and it wasn't until I was TTC for over a year that I finally went for a lap, and like you my symptoms were getting worse. My Dr. found quite a bit of endo (even wrapped around my ovaries!) but my tubes were totally clear so had I only done the HSG I wouldn't have known.
Good luck!

Hi Hays

I would insist as well, im not sure how IUI works with endo. But, I have severe aggressive endo, and I dont have much pain. If they didnt open me up, I would have been in worse situation than I am in currently.
Since being diagnosed I have noticed, painful period pains, bad back aches, im constantly tired, occasional painful bowel movements and nop it doesnt hurt when having sex or after. Good luck

Defo push for it chick. With any luck you haven't got endo, but the only way to know for sure is a lap. It's so annoying when we have to 'manage' our gynaes!
