Follicle question

I went to the Dr today to have an US to check my follicles. I am CD13 and Dr wants to see check and see if I am ovulating on my own, as they are considering starting me on Clomid. Today, they found one follicle that was
13mm. He won't give me the HcG trigger shot until it reaches 15mm, so I have to have it looked at again on Monday. I am not an expert in this area at all. So, is having 1 follicle at CD13 normal and should it have been bigger? If anyone has any knowledge to share concerning this, PLEASE do. Thanks.

1 follicles without meds is totally normal! The size seems adequate so far too.

Sounds fine to me, they grow everyday and whilst on treatment they wouldn't give me my shot till at least 1 follicle was 18mm

Sounds fine without meds and everyone is different with their ovulation times and therefore follicles growth so its sounds like you're doing well!

Apparently follicles grow 1-2mm per day and should be 17 - 25mm to be mature. At CD12 my follicle this month was only 5mm, by CD 16 it was 15mm and reached approx 21mm before it ruptured on day 21 (ish) (the joy of Ovarian tracking - lots of information!)

13mm at this stage sounds fine. Good luck with your appointment on Monday!

It would depend upon the length of your cycle. Example, a woman with a 28 day cycle might have mature eggs/follicles by CD13. A person with a 40 day cycle might not have follicles/eggs at the same level of maturity until say CD25. You say your cycle is 29 days. Your follicle is almost at the size it should be at, therefore by Monday or Tuesday I am sure it will be more than ready.

Thank you all for your responses. They are very helpful. I am hoping and praying that my follicle is big enough Monday for my first Beta HcG injection. My regular Dr seems to think my hormone levels rise, but then plateau out before getting high enough to stimulate ovulation. I guess I will find out on Monday. This forum is such a warm, knowledgable place to be a part of. Thanks again.

My follicle had grown to 19mm, so I received the HcG trigger shot today. Lots of BD for me for next couple of days. Hoping this is the month.
