wow.. thanks everyone for your messages. really interesting. lucy09 - congratulations! must be quite an amazing time.

i have to say, though I do want it, i find the whole idea quite scary so am very impressed with how together you all sound, especially if you had health scares or problems with the family... even that worry about "looking like a mum" is completely understandable!

Not sure if this is relevant now but hey ho ...

I was 18 years old when I got pregnant with my daughter. My partner and his family wanted me to get an abortion, but I didn't want one and knew I couldn't go through with it, eventually my in laws accepted.

I loved being pregnant, I loved feeling the kicks, hearing the heartbeat, seeing the scans. It was the most amazing experience ever.

I had a pretty easy pregnancy and birth, the only thing that I didnt like was the looks I got off people.

My OH was 20 years old but he only looked about 14 and I could tell when I was walking about with the pushchair or my bump people would look a whisper and I hated it. We done just as good a job as his cousins did who were 40 when they had their little girl! (3 weeks before our little girl)

It wasnt a walk in the park, it was hard work juggling a child with college and then work too! But we got through it.

I am now 21 and we have a little boy who is 11 weeks old. We wouldn't change our family for the world but it does put strain on your relationship and it is a constant battle to work at your relationship but I wouldn't have my life any other way (maybe a bit more money )

Hope that helps you x

hi dont know if you still want to hear from people but here goes
i was 17 when i first fell pregnant but miscarried shortly after that and fell pregnant again a year later when i was 18 (i'm 19 now) im 31 weeks pregnant although i am enjoying the pregnancy there are big downsides like people making rude/nasty comments and not being able to do things my friends are and feeling so tired but knowing i have college work to finish, the good things are seeing the baby at scans, feeling/seeing her kicking and knowing i'm bring this little life into OH and mine families

hope this helps
