Oh wow what a rollercoaster of an experience by the looks of it! It must have been so scary and emotionally exhausting for his mummy. I wish I had the money to donate to causes like this

I'm really begining to feel strongly about babies who are born prematurely or ill, though so think I might do some sort of a mass fundraiser or something. Have registered to run on behalf of BLISS (charity for premature and sick babies) in the Flora London Marathon in 2009 but doubt I will be successful in getting through... I feel that so much more needs to be done for these babies, though and I want to do all I can. So since I've been thinking about what to do with my life career-wise, I'm considering going into neonatal nursing - Just need to have a big think about whether I could deal with it emotionally, though when the babies don't pull through...

It amazes me how much strength young babies can have. I'm in awe.

I donate to bliss if I can,
I started an access to nursing course last year so I could go and work with premature babies but because my son was ill and in and out of hospital having operations I had to quit. With a baby on the way I have been unable to start again, but I might go back and do it when this baby is old enough.

Hey,

I've made up my mind about this now; after we have had baby number 2, I will be starting my degree in midwifery, and will go on from there to specialise into neonatal nursing.

Good luck with your career when bubs is old enough, Cheryl xx
