Thank you...

I haven't been around as much lately as I have in the past, mostly because I have a little monkey at home to take care of.

But I just wanted to thank everyone who has been so supportive and positive through out and continues to be, in regards to my journey with Lakai. I am a member of another strictly 'preemie' forum (which I will not name) and I find it so hard to post on because it seems like a lot of people there thrive on negativity. And recently I was asked to remove a post about Lakai crawling (early for a full term baby....a yes a little really early for a micro preemie) because it may upset the other moms with delayed babies. While I FULLY understand that they could be upset by it, I also think everyone should have a chance to be proud of their babies. And not feel like they can only post when things are bad.

So I just wanted to thank everyone for never making me feel like I couldn't brag a little. And for all the support.

I don't know what I would do without you guys!

Firstly welcome back and congrats that Lakai is crawling already thats amazing and you should NEVER be made to feel bad about that, it must have been a very pround mummy moment that was ruined a little. Hope to hear more about how well Lakai is coming on x

Hello Nkbapt, I think you should be able to post positive things about your little one. It gives mums like me going through this trauma hope. I have read so many negative stories on the internet that to hear someone is doing really well is great. This forum is brilliant and I wished I had found it earlier as it is getting me through the last few weeks. I wish I had found this two months ago. I think premmie forum should the positive and the negative. Babies like Lakai should be held up of examples of how they can make it through and thrive! Good on you and all the best with your bundle of joy!
x

I totally know what you mean. Whilst Archie was in hospital I was told to visit that website. I felt awful the next day, infact I couldn't sleep that night as I was worried what might happen then and in the future to Archie. I forced my Hubby to look at the site and he told me NEVER to look at it again. It's like people promote all the bad things that have happened to their LO and record it within their signature.

And your right, people should be allowed to scream out loud to anyone that wants to listen about things their LO has achieved. They can choose not to read it.

Congratulations by the way! xxxx

Awe thanks ladies. Well lets just say...it does and will get better. There truly is nothing like being home. Claiming your baby, which is something you can do in the NICU of course. But truly feeling like this is MY baby I think comes when you are home. Alone. Just the two or three of you. A family, whatever that is made up of.

I never doubted my son would be ok, I always knew in my heart I would take him home. I use to doubt myself like I was being naive, but I never truly stopped thinking he will come home and be ok. Sure he has some issues from being born so early, but nothing he will not over come.

They told us he would be delayed...none yet. In fact he has done almost everything early. Sitting up...crawling...everything.

Don't ever doubt yourself or your babies!

I find it really sad that the site I thought was so amazing sounds just like you said..they seem to love the negative. I think what truly happens...if moms dont find a site like this, they give up and stop posting. I think you have to find blogs like yours and others where you get the positive and negative (sometimes). I refuse to stop posting thats for sure. I refuse to let other preemie moms feel/think that there is nothing good or positive in their babies futures!

Thank you by the way!

I still pop by to see how Lakai is getting on after being on the 2nd tri forum with you. I love to hear how he's getting on! I was happy to hear he was crawling. He's done so well he is an inspiration and you need to share. I know Finn wasn't premmie but he was in neonatal to start with, though I wouldn't post here I do stop by from time to time
