Ive rented mine from Boots for £ 29.35 for 4 weeks, including P&P and VAT. They post it out at 37 weeks and if you go over you get 2 weeks extra FOC. Im happy with that.

i love my TENS unit. I bought mines outright rather than renting it as I knew I wanted more than one child - not only has it come in handy for 2 labours (mines and a friends ; who borrowed it for her last labour) but it is great for after the birth and for back aches and pains for my OH (who will frequently steal it for his sore back) and other aches and pains.

Mines cost £50 - which was about as much as renting it would cost in total (it was something like a £25 deposit and £25 for 4weeks) and like I say i have had full use out of it making it an excellent purchase!

i was starting to look at these..

think im going to buy one for two reasons.. i plan to have more children hopefully.. if not have a close friend who is currently ttc..

and also because im very likely to deliver in next 2-3 weeks max the rental ones dont seem to be any good as they dont want to send them out till you are 37 weeks!

prob get one this weekend!

Ive hired the same one. You can buy them from amazon for £57 free p&p and then they sell on ebay for about £40.
I know everyone has different experiences of them but personally i loved it. don't be afraid to twiddle with it, i kept flicking between the 2 modes but that was what worked for me. I was dead scared pressing the boost button at first, it gives a dead sharp burst that was wonderful. towards the end though i had it on boost permenantly lol! Hope it works for you & good luck

Ah no fair! What hospital are u with hun my physio department said they wouldnt let me use a tens machine to help with back pain as they're unsure of the effects it has on bubba. She said nothing's been proven or disproven they just don't like to risk it with pregnant women so figured i could only use it safely with bub in labour for that short period. x

My midwife's apparently charge you £20 to hire them (which is to replace the pads) but Im wondering if I would be better buying one off ebay and reselling it once I've finished??

i'm not exactly positive but i think it is to do with the point of contact. Tbh from my experience the contractions cover such an area i can't see how 2 pads would help much, it's prob nearly as useful as them telling you to take paracetomol in labour.

I think the four point ones work at a higher frequency level aswell.
