Large For Dates

Anyone else out there showing large for dates?
I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with my second and I have been told I am showing between 36-37 weeks (fundal height measurements). I am getting my 34th week ultrasound this Friday to check growth etc. Everything is fine with bubs she's kicking and squirming heaps, great strong heartbeat so I am not worried just want to know if I should expect to deliver her early or not as I am very low!

I am almost 33 wks 5 and I guess I am measuring big. Does that mean you will be early? And if you measure small you will more likely go overdue?

I was measuring larger at my last prenatal, was 22 weeks, measured 23.5.

People who see me ask if I'm going to deliver in the next few weeks, not in 13 weeks. lol

I guess it all depends on how much fluid we are retaining, how big the baby is going to be etc...

i am measuring large for dates, we go this thursday to the hospital for a doc there to have a look and decide if we need a scan or whatever. You should have seen my husband when we were told she feels large for dates, he was alll happy thinking she would be born earlier, lol. he asked the midwife straight away. he was beaming on the way home, even though she said most probably not, a lot of the time it doesnt change the date, she could have had a growth spurt and it will calm down, that is why we had to wait 2 weeks, to see if she is still growing at such a rate.

i am glad he was happy but seriously he isnt the one that has to wiggle her out, lol.

I have always measured big but have only ever had one natural birth. My others have all been sections early so I can't say whether it happened for me or not. I am currently 33 weeks and measuring 38. I have been told all it means is that your baby is bigger, that's all. It has nothing to do with the delivery or when your baby will come xxx

At my last m/w app at 28 weeks i was measuring 32 weeks but I have a history of having big babies. My problem is not really the babies size but SPD, The larger the baby gets the worse pain I get
I have 2 growth scans booked at 32 and 36 weeks and a consultant app the day after both to discuss. I will more than likely have to be induced just like my last bubbs.
As for going early naturally, sorry but it doesnt make a bit of difference. My 10 year old was 10 days late and weighed 10lb 14 oz, I measured big throughout my pg with her but m/ws and docs were adamant she was gonna be average sized. Yeah right!

They may induce you if your big at your scan

I was MASSIVE with Caitlin and they said I'd have a BIG baby - Turned out I had a hell of a lot of water.

I have measured large for dates since week 15!! I am currently nearly 39 weeks and measuring 44!!! That said, I had a growth scan at 36 weeks and was told that my baby was only about 7.5 lbs at the the time ( although my midwife disagrees with them). All my previous children have been big babies...9lbs 8oz being the smallest and 11lbs 1oz being the largest, but I have delivered them all naturally without any real problems.
You could be having a large baby or you could just be carrying a lot of fluid, the only real way to tell is to have a growth scan quite late on in your pregnancy to get a better idea, I should imagine if you keep measuring large they will offer you one anyway.
Good luck chick xxx
