I went to have my blood done first thing this morning......results not back til friday....might ring to see if there's anyway they can speed things up!
Praying I've not got it....obviosly!
Has anyone else had/got this?
I'm itching all the time......its not just my bump its everywhere, arms, hands, legs its keeping me awake at night & driving me bloody mad!
If I have it, it looks like I'd have to be induced asap! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had it with Jack hun *Please Read* Obstetric Cholestasis
If they are testing for O.C they usually rush the bloods through
If you do have it they will give you 2 steroid injections for babys lungs and deliver at about 37 weeks
They will also put you on some courses of tablets to stop the itching etc...
Sorry can't remember very much off the top of my head, but any questions i will try to answer for you.
Above all though hun, try not to worry as they have caught it in time if it is and you will get best possible care xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | How quick is this......I've just called the MW office to ask some advice about piriton (to help ease the itching) and the MW checked my record and said 'was that to do with the blood test you had today?' My tummy dropped, but then she said my liver was fine & before I take anything to speak to my GP as he'll be able to advise what is best for me! Cnt believe how quick it was!
She also gave me a few tips of how to sleep/rest better to sooth the itching!
So i'll be off to my GP in the morn to get something to stop me looking like I've go fleas!
Thank God its all ok tho!
Thanks for your reply Jo & glad everything went ok for you!
xx |

| Hey Sam, glad all is ok. Just wanted to add something about the piriton. I was suffering from a conjested nose from dec, through til present- I had seen dr after dr after dr, BEGGING that they would give me something for it but they all said no.. every single one of them. I then went to see a DR that I had never met before and mentioned to her that I was still very congested; she prescribed me piriton. I went back to my dr a few days later for a sick note and he asked me why I was prescribed those pills, so I told him- he said I was to stop taking them; That scared me... I then had a MW appointment and asked her about the pills, she said the same thing, they should not have been prescribed at all and she would be very happy if I was to stop taking them. Lucky for me, that I followed my own instinks and did not touch one tablet. I wondered why every other dr had refused me medication yet this one doc who was from another country, allowed me to have them- so I didnt take them out of sheer concern. Good job really. Hope u feel better. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | There is ONE allergy tablet you are allowed, I was prescribed it during pregnancy after my GP wrote to a specialist of some sort to find out about the medications I was on......and I was sure it was piriton that they prescribed me as an alternative, if not piriton, there is one that is safe for sure! Glad all is OK tho babe! x |
