Baby Sign (as seen in Meet the Fockers)

I signed up to get info on this at the Baby Show and they sent me the link just now:

http://www.itvbabysign.com/about/

It looks really interesting - I thought it was just an american thing from Meet the Fockers, but it looks really useful when combined with general talking to your baby. I can't wait to give it a go!

im defo doing this!! i also signed up at the baby show!

my friend is deaf and when she had her son he learnt to sign A LOT quicker than he said things (his dad was not deaf and would speak to him normally) and he didnt cry nearly as much as they had a way of communicating through sign when he couldnt speak, he didnt get frustrated!

i asked her to teach me some signs for my baby but then i found that site! sooo good and i cant wait either!

xx

I use Makaton Sign Language with my two, my eldest has speech delay (He's possibly autistic)
Makaton is used by Justin Fletcher (aka Mr Tumble) for those in the UK he does a kids show called Something Special
Im self taught at the mo but looking at taking a course in the near future and maybe starting a few classes in my area.
Its really helped my eldest and in turn my daughter has picked it up too and her vocab is excellent for a nearly two year old. I plan on using it with Oliver when he's older.

When I saw your post about what everyone's doing and if they're bored, I wondered if you were talking about the stuff from Meet the Fockers... But I wasn't sure if it was just something "funny" from the movie...

Now that I know it's real gestures, I'm definitely going to check it out!!
