how many what hun? your having a section so u will be in about 3-4 days? so just pack as much clothes for baby as you think you will need. I may be having a section (hopefully not) and have packed 6 vests, 6 sleepsuits, 3 cardigans, snowsuit, 6 bibs, socks, 3 hats, one thick blanket, one cllular blanket...but OH can always drive home for anything else i need only 15 mins away xxx

I was actually gonna ask you this question, you have done it twice before, so i figured you would know exactly what would be right and what amount.
I feel like im taking way too much, and its good to know from someone who has been there twice before who has first hand experience from what you took previous times. Got a list?

we should be asking you lol if you took too much last time dont take so much lol.

i reckon 2 suits a day for your stay, i'm taking 2 footless all in ones as the security tags are bulky in our hosp and 3 babygrows newborn size, 4 vests, 3 pair sox, 2 scratch mits, 3 hats quite small ones. 2 cardys, bring home blanket for car seat, small snowsuit to come home, they told us not to bring blankets as alot end up in the wash with the hospital washing.
cotton wool and pack of nappies. and a hand ful of nappy sacks. what you dont use bring back, spose too much is better than not enough. i think i've over packed as i intend to do skin to skin for first 24 hrs apart from visiting hours as its best for breast feeding which i intend to have a jolly good bash at

Charlie was a very sicky baby as he swallowed lots of mucus and threw up after every feed, so I got through about 6-8 babygrows a day until that stopped. I actually ran out when DH had gone home to wash them, so had to ring him and he had to go Asda to buy some new ones to bring in!

We were told not to take blankets in, or the going home outfits, as we weren't allowed to keep the bags on the floor due to hygiene. Everything stayed in the car till we were allowed home.

Olivia managed to get through 4 sleepsuits in 24 hours as she was quite sicky, so I'd aim to pack 3 or 4 for each day you think you'll be there - but if space is an issue, pack half the amount, then get your OH or a relative to bring the other half in later on & take dirty stuff home.
As well as sleepsuits & vests, I took 2 hats, 2 pairs scratch mitts & 1 pair of bootees. Also took a blanket, but didn't need it. Snowsuit was left with the car seat, which OH brought in on going home day. I also took a cardi for her, but it was so warm on the ward that it didn't get used.
Take a pack of cotton wool, and I was advised to allow for 6 - 8 nappies per day (I was in for just over 24 hours, and used 7). Again, someone can always bring you more in if space in your bag is an issue.

xxx
