Clary sage essential oil

I think that I remember reading somewhere that a bath with a few drops of Clary Sage essential oil was good for encouraging labour.... can anyone tell me any more or point me in the direction of some helpful info......

I'm 37+5wks and want to check before using it!

Yes you are correct- rub some on your wrists or drop some into a bath.

Mix it with some carrier oil and rub it onto bump. I am convinced it made me go into labour and I was 39+1.

Be very careful and don't use it too early ladies. Clary Sage is not generally pregnancy-friendly.

Shifter - I'll be careful, using only a tiny bit in a bath as of the weekend when I'm 38wks

can it cause any kind of harm? iv never even heard of clary sage before and have no idea why it starts labour or why it shudnt be used when pregnant lol

I think it brings on contractions, but not sure how. Not sure about exactly why it shouldn't be used in pregnancy apart from the above, just that it always says on the bottle "Not suitable for use in pregnancy".

i had a bath everyday with it, and rubbed it on me too. Didn't help me, but it was sooooo relaxing!
