Breast leakage - 27 weeks

Hi

So I’m 27 weeks today – and have made it to the 3rd trimester! Can’t believe it really as had 2 early miscarriages and a very scary start to this pregnancy, never thought I would make it this far! Just hope everything’s ok from here on!

Last night I woke up twice with a small wet patch from my left nipple. Nobody warned me of this! Is it normal to leak a bit at this stage? I guess I thought it might happen but not till a bit later on!

Would love to hear that this is normal and has happened to others?

I can feel my little man moving every day now, a good few times a day – still generally quite low down with the odd kick higher up and still not that strong a lot of the time (or not as strong as I thought it might be but very definite movements!!) – is that normal at this stage also? I have an anterior placenta. He seems more squirmy and wriggly than kicking at the moment!

Any advice appreciated!

Thank you xxxxxxxxx

I havent personally had any leaking, but i know a lot of women do!
I would rather have it to be honest with you so I know they work! haha and yes the squirmy movements will take over from the kicks from now as he is running out of space slowly xx

All sounds perfectly normal to me Ive also got an anterior plancenta and was just a the same, low down and quite light a few weeks ago. Id say cherish the little wriggles now though, cause when your whole body is shaking it's not so cute, it def does get stronger! As for the boobs, loads of people on here have been leaking for ages. I was starting to worry that something was wrong with mine cause id not leaked at all. But lo and behold, mine started leaking last night too, so does that make us boob sisters??

Have a healthy and happy pregnancy and keep up the good work, cause everything sounds just right so far to me!

Ah thank you both so much!!!!!!!!!!! That is so reassuring!!!!!!

I'll just have to hope that for the moment the leaks are only at night when no-one will see!

Bambib - when did the movements start to feel stronger to you? Most of what i feel is below my belly button but have had kicks higher so i know he can get up there if he feels like it, he just seems to like it down low!

Did you start really growing from here on? I have a bump but its not massive at the moment - i guess make the most of that! Measurement at 26 weeks were ok, so hopefully still be on track at my next appointment next Monday!

Thank you both xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Movements only started being quite strong in the last fortnight or so (they are really quite intrusive now!), but they did def become stronger when he/she moved up a bit, which was about week 28/29. Im convinced that it was really needing to pee that did it, that and lying down lots. It was just so good cause not only did the kicks and punches feel so much better, but i also managed to get bladder space back, so i dont have to get up in the middle of the night anymore awesome!!

As for bump size, it's really only been in the last week and a half that my bump has started to really grow. Before that people coming into my work were still oblivious, or kept making comments about how tiny i was etc. Doc said that baby was fine though at 30 week app so not to worry.

Hope you're appointment on monday goes well, and if you ever want a chat about anything you know where i am

Thanks! Maybe my little man will start to move up soon as at the moment i feel like he just likes to stay down low all the time! When i wake up in the morning my belly is hard but usually below the belly button, occasionally above but generally below. I had started to get a bit worried that maybe my uterus wasnt growing up enough but sounds like these things are quite normal? Its just nice to talk to someone who is that bit further on and went through all these feelings!

Not long to go for you - you must be sooooo excited!! Do you know what you are having?

xxxxxxxxxxx

I started leaking really early on. Like begining of second trimester. Invest in the breast pads...they help to not rip your nipples off when you get out of your bra =/
Also, you'll notice they leak more when you smell a baby, hear a baby, see an adorable puppy, are sexually aroused, very mad, very happy...basically all of the intense emotions, and when you sleep, so if you don't already wear a bra to bed, I suggest it, or else you'll have little crusties all over your arm and chest when you wake up. One might leak more than the other. Aaaalllllsssssoooo, if the fluid color or consistancy changes, don't worry, unless its like red or green. Yellow is normal, a weird blue is normal, clear is normal.

Uuuummmmm, thats all the boob knowledge I have, as of now lol.

wait! the bumps around your areola might get bigger, too. Don't panic. And if you develop freckle things, you don't need to yank your shirt down in front of your doctor and say "DO I HAVE CANCER!!???" because 1. you don't, and 2. I already did that for you. (i panic sometimes.)

Happy leaking!

I was being a little nosy in this forum as I'm not quite here yet and spotted this, I've been leaking for weeks so you're not alone! All wonderfully (if you can call wet patches wonderful?) normal
