Hospital (Maternity) look around visit?

Ive seen the midwife today for the usual check ups and she mentioned the hospital visit. She wants me to go before and look around before my next appointment with her in 3 wks time.

When is everyone else planning on visiting their Maternity Unit? I am planning on Lincoln Maternity Unit, so if anyone else has been there before it would be good to hear your experiences.

I saw mine as part of my antenatal class on Monday.

We have the option to see ours either as part of our antenatal classess or as a drop in on a dedicated afternoon. To be honest, we skipped out of the antenatal classess as they wernt remotly useful....Im still to this day unsure why we have to turn our wrists in a certain way during pregnancy or why the men in our lives should be doing pelvic floor excercises. We do plan on going to the drop in service in the next few weeks though

I'm going to mine this week. Will be interestting to see as I have never been in a labour ward!

I'd forgot about this, do you just ring up your chosen hospital and ask? Or does it need to be through your midwife?

I should think you could ring up your chosen hospital and they should be able to give you the times/days. Thats what i would have done if midwife hadn't of told me today.
