would you call at the midwifes drop in center to just check or am i being silly?

hello ladies

i am in 2 minds over what i should do

my midwifes have a drop in hour at 1-2pm on thursdays and i am wondering if i should go or if i am just worrying over nothing

here my problem

i read all the time that after 28 week ANY change in fetal movement (anything that isnt the norm whether increase or decrease in movement) you should get checked out.

well for the past 3 days (4th day if it carries on today) i have felt my little man moving but not kicking/punching. he used to kick all the time and you could really see my tummy jump but lately its more like he he is wiggling around and not kicking his legs/arms. at first i thought maybe he has turned so he is facing my back and that why i am not feeling "kicks" but i have weighed myself this morning and i have lost 2 lbs this week (am already over a stone below my prepregnancy weight)

what do you ladies think should i go or will i be wasting their time?

I don't think it's ever a waste of time if it stops you worrying, but my little boy started becoming more of a wriggler than a kicker as he got bigger. I think he just ran out of room to take a good swing. I'm sure everything is fine.

i do wonder if i will ever not worry ever again. when i first got pregnant i worried something would happen but thought once i get to 12 weeks i would chill out but then i worried about my 20 week scan, then i worried about getting to 27 weeks (what my hospital class as viable date) now i worry about reduced/change in movement and cords round neck and i know once he is born i will worry about everything from little cuts and bruises to all the creeps and weirdos we share this planet with

its going to be none stop worrying from here on in isnt it?

This happened to me approx this time. I never get kicks now its all just rolls limbs poking out etc... baby runs out of room to kick. Go and get checked though as there is nothing worse than sitting at home worrying. It will become more apparant as the weeks go on that baby is bigger and you kick count movements as 1, I had to ask this as I paniced xx

they do struggle to kick in this tri i think, but if your gut instinct says 'somethings up' act on it,even if it isn't, they would probably just tell you to go hospital if anything,so maybe phone them see if they will,if not they'll refer you to call the antenatal ward so you can be put on a doppler/machine and get some monitoring. Anytime you feel baby isn't moving in his/her 'normal' way and it worries you go in chick im sure LO is fine but better safe than sorry, i went in when i thought my LO had stopped gl doll xxxx

Don't ever think you are wasting their time hun. If you are ever worried it s always best to get checked. Chances are it will usually turn out to be fine but you don't want the one time you don't go to be the one time you really should of x

well i decided not to go (didnt want to sound like a neurotic first time mum) and my LO has been wriggling loads, still no hard kicks but lots of squirming around and there has definitely been at least 10 movements in a hour (in the active hours) so i am just going to keep a check on his movements over the next few days and take it from there

thank you all for the advice it did help put me at ease a bit x

It is never a waste of time if you feel something is not right. Around 27-28 weeks, I started to notice less kicks and punches, but more shifts and turns. Now I am 31+4 and only feel him turn or shift around. My OB said this is normal as they getting bigger and running our ot space. But if you think you need to get checked, definitely go to put your mind a ease. GL
