Worried - Bump got much smaller overnight

Just as the title says, over night my bump got much smaller. The PJs I'm wearing didn't button over my bump, they didn't even meet but this morning I was able to button them up.

Has anyone heard of this happening, should I be concerned? Its really strange!! Baby is moving and I have some slight wetness but nothing I would imagine is waters breaking.

Thanks!

Im just guessing and i don't know how far along you are, but could it maybe be caused by baby dropping a bit?x

Hi hun

My bump has also become so much smaller the past few days - looks really strange now and not as uncomfortable as it was. Although I am nearly 40 weeks so I think baby has engaged fully now! If you have concerns speak to your midwife. I know when my waters go obviously my bump gets smaller but like you I have had no leakage - very strange!!

It is really strange! I just don't know what to think. Baby is wriggling away happy enough so I'm not sure what to think. I don't want to ring up and waste anyone's time with what could be a bit of a daft question. DH thinks the PJ top stretched but there is absolutely no way that is the case as these haven't fitted for a while now and I was only able to button them over my boobs so they can't have stretched as they weren't done up.

Could it be just baby has changed position. My bump size and shape changes quite frequently. Throughout the day as well my bump sticks out further as I get more tired and my posture changes. Sure its normal but if you are at all worried ring your midwife, that's what they are there for x

Depends on babys position, if back to back the bump can appear squishy n smaller, if back is to ur belly then its usally more firm n looks bigger

At my last midwife appointment I noticed I was measuring 38 weeks instead of 40- the week before I had been right on 39 weeks so I'm presuming it's because baby has dropped more into the pelvis xx

I figured that he might have moved except all the movements are in the same place and it is such a dramatic change. I can't see him being engaged as I've got Placenta prevea so I called the MWs. They transferred me to the fetal assessment unit and the woman was plain horrible!! She said I can't have placenta prevea as if I did then I would be "flat on your back in a bed here worrying about bleeding" and I said well it was confirmed again 3 weeks ago and she just went hmph. Then she said baby is probably engaging and has pushed past the placenta......... I just don't understand this at all. Then she said that I shouldn't call them anyway, I should call my community MW, when I told her I didn't have 1 she said then call your GP!! But that is no help as they only take calls from 8:30-9am. I'm really annoyed now. Not so much about bump size, if that is the case then that is fine but I'm now feeling like I've been left with no support from my MWs. I hate pregnancy and I hate hospitals, what a rubbish combo. Sorry she has annoyed me, MWs can be such heartless B*&ches at times.
