who looks after the baby after birth?

so u know how when ur pregnant u go to the hospital with ur baby and when shes born u go back to that hospital if something is wrong, im just curious because my hospital isnt exactly a real hospital as such, like anyone couldnt just turn up, its a womens hospital for like...specific things, i guess like giving birth lol, i had all of my antenatal stuff there, they also have like breast testing and stuff there...i was wondering, after i had the baby if something was wrong with her, would i take her there? or would i have to take her to the normal one??

random question but i was just wondering

xxx

Not too sure about this as the hospital i'm in has security with keypads and door bells to ring to declare who you are apparently you have to wear identity badges too for family. So that's enough security in itself the only people in the place are people who are there because of a birth don't know how other hospitals like your one operate, have you looked up the website for the hospital or ask your midwife for brochures, my hospital gave me a booklet telling me all about the ward. x

You should have a midwife come visit you every day for first 10 days at home after birth, she should check you and baby so if anything wrong she will send you in to hospital, health visitor then takes over from midwife, you will get her number if you have any questions after this point youd take baby to dr as you would yourself unless an emergency.

We are required where I live to get a newborn to see a pediatrician within the first few weeks after birth.
